Default Looking for a Backdraft with a Roush 427

Even with the terrible economy right now, im considering buying a Backdraft.....either a 402R for about $40K or a 427R for about $53K. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thx

T

Default which one

And I worried about the color I was getting, hey if you have the budget it’s not a hard choice, go with what flick your switch.

Contact Reg Dodd and he will take care of you. I really believe you can get into the 427 package for less than $53K...I have a race friend in Phoenix that had that package in his Cobra and it was absoulutely awsome. Of course he was a very good driver but there wasn't a FE that could keep up with him at the time.

If you wait it out you can find anything, There was a BDR with fully polished 402R, halon system, top, tonnea, 17" wheels, silver with ghost stripes last fall and 1800 miles which sold for $43000. No way you can buy new with 402r for 40K probably 47K, 427R 53K would be right.

There is a smoking deal on a SPF 50th anniversary addition in the classifieds for $57,900 and it has a polished 427R!! Talk him down to $56K and you will probably always be able to sell the car for what you paid. If you are spending anything over $50k this would be the only way to go TODAY, who know's what will pop up next week.

thx for all the replies....the 402R is not new....has 3000+miles and garage kept. I like the color combo. I offered 40K since that is what the wife is allowing with the current economy. Things dont look to be getting better soon.

That is the add that got me to contact Frank over a year ago I have almost the same set up plus a few adds. The car in the add was sold but they had an Avis blue coming from SA in February of last year and that is the one I had built to the specs I wanted. The 427R motor is incredible. I highly recommend it.

You wait long enough and scan the classifieds once or twice a week and see one sitting for a while and you will get it, BDR with 402 = $40-43, SPF 402 $49 -53, now you may have to wait until next October but it can be done or it can happen next week. It amazes how many people I have dealt with on Cobra who bought on a whim, do not know much about the mechanics of cars and just want it gone. Those are the ones you get the deals from.

The more unknow you are willing to deal the better or worse the deal will be, if the seller intimately knows every detail about cobras then he will get market value, it is the one that knows little and does not care that will give you the best deal.

It was on collectorcartrader add when I was looking. I think they keep it active to attract potential customers. (like me) This is the add although I see we have had some inflation over the last year http://dealer.collectorcartrader.com...?adId=86680866 Notice the number 454. It worked I love the Avis Blue.

Buy a small-block BDR, do a powertrain swap.

PM me.
