front rotor wheel stud replacement

ok...got one stud on a front rotor that has no threads left after a very difficult wheel lug nut removal. It looks as if the stud can be screwed out of these BMW rotors. my questions are 1. does BMW sell replacements studs? is this a left hand thread into the rotor? best way to remove the stripped stud? How to install the new stud?

The factory BMW setup has male nuts/studs, they were converted by BDR to the stud with standard female lugs for the bolt on wheels.

There are many aftermarket sources for BMW wheel studs. Just do a Google search. Or, you can just get standard BMW lug bolts from a BMW dealer or other parts source like I did. From the dealer they're pretty expensive, though. I would recommend stud replacement on any BDR. The ones they come with are not very good, at least on the early cars.

Jay thanks for the link...got my short term fix. Yep R_M, the BDR OEM's don't look like the best.

Just got some black chrome-moly studs from bimmerworld.com...

They have a bullet nose for easy seating of the lug. Even their short ones are quite long (>70mm) and they use open lugs. I like the way they look. You tighten them with a hex key, which is a lot better than the screwdrivers type.
