outside of the obvious, is there anything else I should be aware of when I remove my engine? I planning on removing the engine only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is actually a lot easier to remover the engine and tranny as one assembly. It is much harder to realign the input shaft on the tranny to the engine with it dangling in the air. Also, you will have to find some way to support the tranny in position where the bellhousing is located.

One important tip if you are doing it in your home garage: be extra careful to not spill transmission fluid on the garage floor. It stinks up the whole house and is tough to get out of concrete.

In desperation after weeks of spousal verbal abuse and threats of impending celebicy, I finally poured muriatic acid from the pool on it and that did the trick.

Just drain the transmission fluid before you pull it if you end up taking it out.
End of problem. If it is going to stay and won't be tilted much then you
should be ok leaving it in. I learned the hard way - big difference!

Lots of friends to help and lots of blankets to prevent damaging the paint.

And take your time ... do not rush it. Drink the beer AFTER removal. Not during or before.
