Default Remote Clutch Fluid Resevoir

Is there any way to mount a remote resevoir to the stock BDR clutch fluid resevoir? Its really hard for me to add fluid without spilling all over. I have been using a turkey baster and its still a pain because of the location.

I used a funnel with a piece of tubing attached. This allowed me to pour the fluid in away from the paint on the fender

Mark,
Go to a hobby shop that specializes in RC nitro trucks. The fuel container they use is a plastic squeeze bottle with a grommet in the neck with an aluminium fill tube. It works great for the brake and clutch reservoir. Zero leakage. It's all I use.
Cheers,
Richard

I use an oil squirt can. The kind with a pump handle. You can even put a small length of vinyl tubing on it.

I like to get the engine as hot as possible and burn my arms and then watch the flamage. Just to boot get a nice snake bite on the shin.

Ok, so far I like the idea of using the pump can from harbor freight and also the RC fuel bottle. I think I have both of those in the garage! Just need to clean them out.
Real soon I am going to use one of the push style slaves. Probably the one from autoworks that has the TKO mount and CNC slave.
I am not a fan of the Wilwood pull slave that I have now. Just waiting for it to give out....again. Seems stupid to have a pull syle slave where the seal is holding back the preasure vs a push style that has the cylinder holding the fluid preasure. A person would never see a pull style in the military field if one was to be used there. Never use a seal to hold back hydrolic preasure. Always use the cylinder to hold back the preasure. One of the other local cobra guys gave me a hint on that one. Thanks for the tip Ray.

Mark,
When it fails replace it with a hydraulic throw out bearing and never worry about it again...Just my opinion...Mac

Mark.
I also agree with Mac. I went through three slaves, then went to a hydraulic TO bearing, 7000 mi later zero issues.
Mac, I hear you are in for R&G??

I've never had a problem filling mine directly from the bottle. I bought the smallest bottle of fluid the auto parts store had and just leaning over the driver's side fender, I can see and fill the resevoir no problem with plenty of room to tilt the bottle. Granted it's not the easiest position and I've never had to do it while keeping an eye out to not burn the shins, but it's worked OK so far.

I use a syringe (like you get in a drug store for administering medicine) with clear vinyl tubing attached to the end. It's still a pain. Would be nice to have it mounted on the firewall or something.

That was really interesting about the merits of a push versus pull type cylinders. I am using a push now, but I saw a photo of a pull type attached to a bracket on the tranny and it *looked* like a good way to go, but now with the seal direction thing I guess its not. The push works fine, but the alignment of the shaft and the fork is hard to get straight and you have to worry about the bellhousing getting in the way.

I guess there is a reason that manufactures use hydraulic throwout bearings.

norcal al nailed it, a small oil pump can works great no dripping while putting it in an no drips pulling it out. just make sure you mark the can so you doin't "oil" something with brake fluid!

I have a CNC pull slave and haven't had or heard of any problems

I fill mine right out of the bottle (12oz). I use Wilwood 570 that I get from Jegs or Summit. Lean over the fender and look at the MC while your head is upside down. Put the fluid bottle in your left hand and fill from the front side of the MC. You can wrap a rag around the MC to catch any drips that may occur. I've never really had a problem doing it this way. I've bled it at least 6 times like this.

You can do it with the car running and hot if you want to make a game out of it.

I do both, pulling the louver on the driver side is really quick and easy then I use a syringe that I found at a pet store to give meds. to dogs and cats. The whole vile hold the same amount as the resevior.
