Default Half shafts

Has anyone out there changed the half shafts and replaced the boots? I'm looking for tips, short cuts, pictures, anything.

Thumbs up

They are fairly easy to replace. if you have the new sacraficial hub center caps drill a 7/8 hole in center then use a dent puller to pull out.

This exposes the hub nut, using an impact remove that. Then raise rear of car (lift is easier if you have one) use jack stands for safety.
There is a parallel bar on bothe sides each held in with 4 bolts 2 front 2 rear remove these bars.

Remove rear shocks, then remove bolts from center section to halfshaft, once all the bolts are removed use a prybar to remove halfshaft on the one that isn't snapped the snapped one will be easier.

Then re install in reverse, should take roughly 2 hours tops on the first side then quicker after the learning curve is accomplished.

Don't forget to mark you alignment points, or get the alignment redone before driving.
Cheers,
Richard

Question

Why would it need to be realigned? He shouldn't have to remove any of the suspension components.

If you remove your halfshafts the way Bailey does you will need an alignment
