Default Pulling a Backdraft Differential

I’m looking for any advice on pulling out the differential on a backdraft. Originally I had a LSD built with 20/90 ramps and 40% lock but didn't change the stock 3.15 gears, which was a mistake. Time to change out to 3.73s, so I’m sending it back to changed out gears. I found a DIY E36 differential swap step-by-step instructions with photos that someone posted on the web that doesn’t look to bad. Anyone know if I am underestimating this project?

Thanks,
Rod

Rod: Not a hard job. Unbolt cvjoints, unbolt swaybar bushings and push bar up out of way, remove drive shaft bolts, remove front diff bolt, remove two bolts at top rear cast cover, (have some one help hold unit or have tranny jack under it) and work it out. Oh, also unplug speedo cable!

Motorhead – thanks for the help. I’m replacing the clutch so I thought while it’s in the air, I might as well do the differential as well.

Make your life easier, pull the fuel tank. You don't have to, but it makes it easier.
