Backdraft Racing Front Apron
I really would like to put one on my cobra. Can anyone let me know what problems they have had and if you have any pictures I'd love to see them

Great for the track. The problem on the street would be that you couldn't enter or exit a driveway or go over a speed bump.

Roz
I think Jay & the guys at Vintage did one ? I think Doug is right that it would be a problem for driveways and curbs ? that would look mean on your black monster though ?

We have a customer in MT that carries chains in the trunk by law!
The apron is really impressive on the track and adds a lot visually but I think it would get torn off on our streets. I don't think you'd even get out of your shop...

how does this thing attach? whats the car look like when it's removed for street? Seems you'd want the attachent mechanism to allow it to break away without ripping the front of the car apart.

This is what it looks like on a TD car, not different at all on a street car. When off, the car looks like any other street BDR.

You can mount it several ways. Dzus fasteners could be employed to make it easily removable. You will have mounting holes showing in the body when it is off.

Ray, I attached mine with #10 stainless button head bolts in 6 places. I can remove or attach it in about 20 minutes at the most. I have run mine on the street, but like the others said, you have you have to be careful not to bottom out. If you have a good transition on the driveway, then it should work.
Also, I have a rubber seal between the body and the spoiler to keep it from scratching the paint.
Bests, James
