Default Hose Rub?

Noticed a small leak in the hose from the top of the coolant tank to the top of the radiator. Removed it to fix and found that where the tie wraps had been (coolant hose tied to overflow hose) the two areas were almost worn thourgh. Do not know if it is friction wear or chemical reaction of the hose materials.
You might want to check it out. I put tie wraps back on but turned them inward so the stem went in between the hoses and cut it off coming out the other side.

Brudda, our Windsors torque and twist like crazy, I'm guessing repeated body/chassis flex was more than that poor hose could take.

I looked into braided stainless aircraft-grade hoses a few years back, but JESU!

Braided custom hoses=1 year's college tuition!

Not for me.

yeah i've had some rub thru too, i now have extra hose material laying around, put a sleeve of hose around the existing rad hose where the wire ties are, will keep the"business"hose from wearing.
