Default BDR #98 in my garage

Yesterday was a good day. We drove from Cincinnati to just outside of St. Louis on Tuseday evening. Wednesday morning we went to the dealer and picked up my new toy, Backdraft #98.

We stopped 3 times for fuel, and to stretch the legs. From St. Louis to my home is 360 miles. The trip home went without a hitch. The car ran great. 46 LBS oil pressure, 89 degrees celcius water temp, 2,200 RPM at 70 mph. The first fill-up I got 15 mpg. The second tank got 20 mpg, surprised the heck out of me. I believe the difference was the dealer said it was full, may not have been topped off, and the car has hardly been driven for the last year.

To summarize the trip - $300 for gas, food, lodging; my grin ear to ear - priceless.

Illinois must have more bugs per acre than any place on the earth. I get to enjoy giving her a bath this weekend.

I want to thank the previous owners for such a nice car. Chuck ordered a nice combination of items and took great care of her. The second owner apparently spent a lot of time and cash tweaking things. I get to enjoy her.

See you on the road.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your new toy! Get used to the ear to ear grin, I've had mine on the road over a year now & still get that silly a$$ grin on my face when I drive it!

Enjoy the drive and be safe!

How about a few pictures?

Randy

Howard,

I'm glad that you like it. I really enjoyed my two years with it. I'm getting ready to get rid of the Corvette and plan on a ERA Slabside as my next project. Let me know if any other questions come up.
Chuck
