ALMS at Laguna Seca....
Anyone interested in attending the ALMS race May 22nd at Laguna Seca? Nor Cal Saac may have a corral at the event.

I may be in. My Cobra is due back from paint, and (no doubt) I'll be scurrying to get it back together. The American LeMans series is a blast. One of my favorites.

Is this still happening? Any other bites on the corral tickets?

Doug doesn't want to get his Cobra dirty . Daily driver doesn't need corral parking. We probably will go down for Saturday's ALMS race. It's a 6 hour race. I'll post what we're going to do. Probably general admission plus dry lake parking.

I don't mind driving when it's sub 40 degrees, but dust....no way!
The reports that I've heard from other CC members, is that the SAAC corral is located in an area that has crushed granite/cement and that it's pretty dusty. Scott (Scooter) went once and won't park there again.

Dave,
Sounds like a great event, I have been meaning to make one of these races. Put me down for (2) tickets, my older son is keen on going. Thanks!
( I'll bet Doug would like to take that black beauty around the track for a few laps )

The ALMS races are great. Wish Audi's R15 was there. I believe they're gearing up for Sebring so I don't expect them to be there. But the Patron tent is worth visiting.

Tim, we'll be buying our tickets individually off the Mazda Raceway site and we'll figure out a meeting place either at the track or before we get there. Maybe Gail's.

I cant go -- got to work.
--But I sent Bob (my fabricator ) and his Brother Ron to ALMS. -- they have a shelby corral pass , so if you see a Big Blue F250 -- that is them.

My son and I made it to the ALMS race at Laguna Seca yesterday … the cars were fast and the racing was great! The HPD ARX-01c of David Brabham, Simon Pagenaud and Marino Franchitti was the overall winner. It got a little cold and windy towards the end of the 6 hour main event, but other than that, a very nice day.
Met up with Dave (4pipes) while we were in the Paddock and saw (1) Cobra (CSX4152) which is the Patron Tequila 'Team' car.
Here are a few photos.

Before the race
The only Ford GT in the race
The Corkscrew … turns 8 and 8a
Late in the afternoon as the clouds came in and the wind really picked up

Tim, thanks for sharing!
Your pics looked like mine the first time I took them too. If you have a chance to practice on the streets, put the Nikon into "sports" mode, the go into the menu and select 'multiframe' (motor drive for us old timers) mode instead of single frame mode.
Take photos of cars on Larry expressway or something. Also, try panning your shots (follow the car) and take your pics. You can sometimes get a bit clearer picture doing this.
