We will start with a Lunch and Learn with the GM Performance Parts and E-ROD Factory Rep Frank Alvizo ( lunch / snack items will be provided )

We will review the LS3 E-ROD "green" motor that they will also bring on a stand, its features and benefits/technology.

We will have some interesting promotional items form the Ranch, and from GMPP. -- so dont be late !

2:00PM

We will pack up the rig , and move the EROD 55 Chevy and the Engine down to the

Wednesday Night Hot-Rod show at Mervyns Plaza ----for the balance of the afternoon/ early evening.

Why the E-Rod engine you say --

SEMA challenged the GM Performance Parts Team to develop an emission compliant high performance crate engine which could be legally registered in the state of California under the new laws passed to begin in January 2010. The GM Performance Parts Team introduced a California emission compliant LS3 Engine and is now available for immediate purchase as a complete crate engine application.

That is part of the idea, -- 430HP in a SPF with a six speed. -- YOW!

or 430HP with an automatic ! --

keep in mind that Superformance is also coming out with Grand Sport Corvette replicas ,- !

this LS3 is only the beginning. -- Fuel Injection is the way !

I also like the package! After seeing it done in SPFs from our friends "down under" with their requirements it only was a matter of time that we would catch on.
With the things going on in our states for emissions it seems the best idea with no hassles, AND respectable power.
Granted a puriest would be appalled of a Chev. in a SHELBY Cobra !
But until Ford adds the Coyote into the mix I like a EROD in a SPF ;-)

Roger , you are right ! our friends from AUS/NZ have been doing these for a while.
This LS3 is just the beginning, they probably will come out with other LS series as well.

I would love to see Ford and Mopar come out with similar offerings.!
The new 5.0L BOSS, the Mopar 6.1HEMI. ---those both are great candidates for Hot Rods, Cobras and Coupes.

Say Doesnt Pete Brock have an LS9 in his coupe now >?

Tim, -- I saw Kevin Enderby's note, so it looks like the APPLE Auto Club will be there as well !
We are bringing in *Bucca De Beppo* for lunch so bring your appropriate appetite !

With all due respect, my mates down under have an excuse for running Chevrolet engines: that's what's available. Not that I have anything against Chevvies, my current daily driver is my fifth Corvette, a '96. And if my trusty bow tie blows up while I'm autocrossing it or something, an LS3 sounds like a great replacement. And while my Shelby engine in my Cobra isn't a "real" Ford motor, it *is* a good replica, like my Cobra itself. Yeah, call me a "purist" or old fashioned if you will. In car shows I even seek out '32 Fords with flathead engines and Edelbrock heads, Stromberg 97s, Belond headers, etc. Ah, the good ole days! Rich

It's on the corner of Scott Blvd. and El Camino in Santa Clara (the old Mervyn's plaza). They have a weekly get together on Wednesday's throughout the Summer.

We'll just fill up the driveway that leads to the back of the shop.

I was trying to be sexy and embed a video from Jay-Leno's garage site , and it didnt work. so i put the link in the former post..

The weather is mixed bag, but the lunch and learn is indoors , so we should be OK , and can setup the material inside.

Hope to see you all there , I really think this is a turning point in our hobby.

Steve

It all makes me wonder: GM has such great technology at their fingertips and can come out with some of the best engines America has seen, yet they can't run a business.

This is why I admire Ford. My only regret with Ford: I didn't buy their stock at $1 in Oct. 2008.

We heard from some folks who went to the good guys this weekend and met with the GMPP guys , -- that they were exited about this appearance at MUSTANG RANCH.

I hope they know its a Hot-Rod shop and not a Hot-Bod shop.

UPDATE: Bucca De Beppo Lunch ordered for 50, Raffle Prizes set , --praying it wont rain, cleaning the shop from bow to stern.

More news as it happens!
