Default E-ROD Tour Stops at Dynamic Auto West

FYI, I got an email a couple days ago. I'm very interested in seeing the new GS Corvette.

"E-ROD Tour Stops at Dynamic Auto West, Monday, May 10, 2010, 3:30PM to 7:00PM. Dynamic's address is 1823 El Camino Real, Redwood City, California.

General Motors Performance Parts E-ROD Tour stops in Northern California. The GM E-ROD '55 Chevy concept will be making a stop in Northern California, visiting Dynamic Auto West in Redwood City, CA the Bay area Superformance and Shelby Dealer!

Attendees at the Dynamic Auto West Briefing will have a chance to see the innovative E-Rod Crate Engine System. Guests will also have a chance to view the new Superformance Corvette Grand Sport, as well as the Cobra Mk III, Coupe and GT40. Refreshments will be served.

The innovative E-ROD ’55 Chevy concept was built by GM Performance Parts (GMPP), and is powered by the new E-ROD emissions-legal crate engine package. The E-ROD crate engine package includes a complete LS3 engine rated at 430 horsepower, emissions equipment – including catalytic converters – and supporting components that enable your performance project car to pass California’s stringent emissions tests. It is available now through GM dealers, authorized GMPP retailers and via the GMPP Web site.

“E-ROD is a compromise-free package that delivers great power and efficiency, with the emissions of a modern vehicle,” said Dr. Jamie Meyer, Product Marketing Manager for GM Performance Parts. “We developed this system because it’s the right thing to do, but our engineers did not sacrifice the performance that stirs hot rodders in the first place.”

Dynamic Auto West is located at 1823 El Camino Real, in Redwood City, CA, one block north of Woodside Road on the east side. All rodders and enthusiasts are welcome, please RSVP to: dynamicautowest@gmail.com

I think that Dennis is also going to have the GS on display at the Palo Alto Concours in late June.

Do you know if it's the Coupe or Roadster? I'd like to see both, but mainly the Roadster.

I'm pretty sure that it's going to be Coupe. Just my .02c, but the Roadster config is one funky looking car.

Also rumors that they're working on an e-Rod version of the SPF MkIII...the crowd gasps and moans.

OK, more than a rumor.

Here's a link to a bunch of pics from the Cars and Coffee, including the GS Coupe:

Well, they're both strange looking, but I tend towards the strange.

What bothers me more/most is the $90K retail price tag.

Speaking of strange, it's a little strange to see the words Corvette on the valve covers of an engine installed in a Cobra.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll come up with covers that are just black or say Ford on them.

LS3s in MK IIIs are already shipping in AU and EU. -- the factory mounts are a bit odd and I think can be improved.

The pictures below are from irvine on one of their cars.

We will be co presenting with Dennis , and I have some interesting updates as well as the Installation manual available.

The Car shown will be a Duntov Coupe - with a 377 in it. -- I will also bring our LS mock up block to set in the different chassis.

I just spoke to Dennis this afternoon, and he asked that I extend and invite to everyone in the BACC out to the May 10th event. There should be a lot of great information to be had, it's not everyday that the factory comes out to share.

Duntov Coupe? You mean a 1963 Corvette Grand Sport?

I stopped by between 5 and 6 and there was quite a crowd. Dennis and crew were there showing the Grand Sport along with a full complement of GT 40's and Cobras. Briefly saw Steve, he was busy talking with some guys about the E-ROD program. Overall a good turnout.
