Default Oil Pressure

I have a stroked 351 W and need to know what the oil pressure should be at normal operating temps. With the oil temp @ 80 c and rpm at 2,000 the pressure is 26 psig. same at 3k and 4k.
Have 12 a/n lines running to cooler and using Brad Penn 20-50 oil.
Cold start up pressure @ 1,000rpm is 35 psig. Engine runs great but the pressure seems low ??

That would require an answer that's based on a lot of different variables.

It would be easier if you told me what pressures you were seeing...

There are variable points, but my rule is ; at 180F , - No lower than 35 at 2000 rpm.

I've got a 351 Ford Motorsports engine, nothing special. I'm running Redline 5W-30 with a Moroso Racing filter (27 microns). 55 PSI at 2,000 RPM hot.

Glenn,

Congrats on the SPF! Great to have another titanium with black stripes in the South Bay.

Look forward to meeting you at an upcoming breakfast.

Thanks for all your input guys, I bought a test oil pressure gauge and found that the pressure was normal. I'm calling Nisonger Monday and ordering a new oil gauge. Bigtime relief...

Yes, but can you really trust a guy named Smokey????? You do know all racers lie, don't you!!!!!!!!!

At 80 c and running @ 2,000 rpm the pressure is 26 psig. same at 3k and 4k . Have remote oil filter and using 12 a/n lines to the cooler. Engine runs great but the pressure seems a little low to me ??
Yes, that does seem real low to me, 26 psi at idle would be my minimum, at 2000 rpms or better your oil pressure should be double that, regardless of oil lines/cooler...first thing you should do is check your gauge, then, I'd check with the engine builder and see what he says, ask about your bearing clearances also....
