Obviously you've missed the fact (and the ads) that Mercedes-Benz is the major sponsor for the British version, and now the American version (I assume also the German verson...don't know about the Aussies).
That being said, the Top Gear (original) boys never minded taking a few cracks at M-B, and still do.
As for access to the latest Lambos...the very first episode of the US Top Gear had a runoff between the two bestest (and latest) Gallardos and the Murci SV.
Finally...Tanner's been on the Supercar show on Speed running all kinds of major movers from everywhere against Paul Tracy...so me thinks he knows a thing or two about what's out there.
All that being said, The US version still will need to grow on us a bit...the English one's been around awhile and the characters have grown on the viewers like any good soap opera.
