Good Guys
Anybody entering the auto cross at the Good Guys Show in Pleasanton June 3-4? I said I'd never go back to one of their shows but seeing some cobras run would definitely be worth the price of admission. Until I can get my car running, I can at least stand back and dream!

They run small track and have very big concrete barriers real close to coarse. Have seen some nice cars come away with some very big dents. Event is more for spectators than for competitors, let the spectators get real close behind concrete and fence.

Why won't you go back? Every time I've been, there have been a number of Cobra owners present. I've attended in my car several times and had a good time. No worries about leaving the car and walking around. Definitely a variety of cars, but usually something for everyone.
The autocross is fun to watch. Haven't seen anyone hit the wall, but there's been some close calls.

Speaking of AutoX there was on the Front Page of the local newspaper this morning an article discussing the potential of reopening negotiations to allow SCCA and other Sports car clubs to hold Solo One and AutoX at the closed Naval air strip in the town of Crowslanding off of I-5 West of Modesto. They held a full blown Trans Am race ther in 1968. It is a huge place with gooved cement. Pretty hard on tires but....

a while back at one of the uato cross events I saw a guy when finishing the course punch it at the end and lose control, and right into a k rail, felt sorry for the guy, but it was fun to watch, they have a ton of bad ass cars there, its alot of fun.

It was the whole experience. Ridiculous parking $$ Same with the entry fee. The last couple of times I've gone it left me wondering what I'd spent my $$ on? I went to see some of the bigger vendors like the Ford SVO , nobody was there. Maybe it was the economy but the whole show didn't seem to have any pop to it. Maybe I'll give it another shot, what the hell , it's only money!
