Just a little garage decor.
I've had this itch to start "decorating" the garage recently. A couple of months ago, I was at an Orchard Supply and in the bargain isles, I spied those reproduction 'old' tins. I got a couple and since then, I've been wanting to just decorate the man cave.
I was talking to a guy who uses a Dremel tool to create artwork. Most noticeably, he's done a Lambo Miura for Jay Leno, and was consigned to make CSI a master engraving of a 427 S/C from which a number of them can now be purchased through CSI (replicas not the original).
The mans name is Shawn Lisjack ( :: EXOTIC ENGRAVINGS :: by Dremel Artist, Shawn Lisjack ) and his site has some amazing work. I purchased one from him at a discount and he customized "MINE" with my Factory Five serial number and signed it.... both parts done with his Dremel tool!
Here's the cool part: when I received it, UPS mucked-it-up and a corner was bent due to dropping it; the panel is aluminum so it was sharp enough for the corner to go all the way through and out the box! So, he custom signed/engraved the same info again and sent me another w/o charge. Since the dented one was just the corner, I decide that I'll use this one for the garage and frame the good one.
Love this little piece of artwork:
