Default Sonoma Historic Race on Sat. 6/4

I was invited to the Sonoma Historic race on Saturday, courtesy of Big-O Tires via a friend of mine (SJDave). We got to eat and drink wine for a couple of hours in the box seat area high above Infineon Raceway. Tim (tkb289) was happened to be there with his friend Kevin (a Ferrari F430 owner/racer) so we had a really good time staying out of the rain.

The morning was wet but not raining yet, but by around 11:30AM, it was pouring for about 2.5 hours before they started racing again so I took a number of pictures of the parking lot and garages; I only had time tonight to load up some 70 photos (I took 200+); enjoy!

At the Will Call Area:

Down At The Parking Lot Area:

MCLAREN (CAN-AM) HEAVEN HERE!!!!!!

That's all for "tonight"; have about another 75-100 more photos!!!!

Very nice pictures, strange weather we are having for this time of year, usually it's close to 100 already.

Sure looks strange to imagine only 4 studs securing the wheel on a high horsepower McLaren, anyone else notice it.

Great pics. I went back Sunday too, much better, and most cars got on track.

Larry, it would be great to see your Grand Sport. I saw it at Canepa's a couple of years ago, and was in awe! A bunch of us are headed up to Yosemite this weekend.

See you soon,
Randy...

Great photos, Herman! Big rain on Saturday and cold and windy on Sunday (but no rain). Not the best of conditions for photo taking. The only one you missed was McLaren #4 with Drivers: Bruce McLaren and Mark Donohue painted on the side. Sigh. Original Minis still are hot! Black Hudsons are still cool.

But the Can-Am and Trans-Am cars were still my favorites. The Shelby Corral was kind enough to let me park my Corvette :0 in the corral (way at the end). A top and windshield wipers *can* be handy. Rich
