Not to sound like a wise arse but is this the greatest car show in SF? Any blogs that can give an idea of past events? A big waste of time but I have to be in Vegas on the 22nd for NBAA and will be on west coast prior to this.

Yes it is MHO
Well of course this is my opinion, but when you can enjoy a day in Golden Gate Park with your friends with picnic & BBQ and a whole bunch of nice cars to look at it is the best. Plus as far as I have ever seen it draws the most amount of cars compared to any show I have seen in the city. On jimmys website About Jimmy's Old Car Picnic they claim 500-800 I know a few years back they had 1000 or more. Check out their website they have a lot of pics from past events.

I love this show and I've been going for >15 years. It's a true "run what you brung" show - everything from classics to rat rods to ratty cars. I'll be there with the kids this year.

I've never done this so maybe this year I'll try to drive down.
Is it $40 at the "gate" and then park?

Yes, if you want to show your car. If you just want to go and check out the show without parking your car on the lawn, it's free.

Freddie: is this a no-alcohol thing? I can't bring a grill in the FFR but I can bring water at least. And is there an "area" where you'll be parked? I haven't bee at the field for awhile but it does run east-west.
