I guess not even the experts have the answer or don't want to give up the secret. Rather than taking the entire rear end apart I re-attached the rotor and just put new BP-10 pads back on.
Some of you with later Superformance cars after #2750 have the same Wilwood Dynalite 4 piston calipers on the front with the (CPB) Hydra-Mechanical Caliper 1.62" single piston in the rear.
Wilwood said they would normally recommend BP-10 pads front and rear. I informed them that I had front end lockup in heavy breaking or panic stops so they recommended the least aggressive pad, the Poly Matrix "Q" pads for the front and the slightly more aggressive BP-10's for the rear.
One possible explanation for the lock up issues is that the cars originally came with 275x15's with 295's as an option. Possibly with the giant 315x17's and the 265's on the front, the front is overwhelmed... That and the fact the rear caliper is a tiny 1.62 inch single piston which replaced the same Dynalite 4 piston calipers Superformance cars before mine had.
The BP-20's (even more aggressive) pads were not recommended except for racing as they are much harder on the rotor and for an unexplained reason are beveled on both ends. The pad has less that 70% or the pad material that contacts the rotor until they are worn down about half way. When I asked why, I was told "that's just the way their made." ??????????????
We'll see what happens.
