CAM Event
Just a reminder for Bay Area Cobra owners the CAM event is next weekend
March 6,7,8. They have decided to allow late model Corvettes in the CAM-S
class so if you would like to see how a 50 year old Cobra does against a new Z06 with the same tires come on out. Better yet, enter your Cobra and join the competition. There will be both original Muscle cars and late model muscle cars running in separate classes, so lots to see if you don't want to run.
This is not your normal autox event. Friday they have practice with instructors available, welcome party Friday night, and dinner included Saturday night. You will not have to work course or any of the normal autox work.
SCCA along with Speedway Motors is having the event at Crows Landing It is a qualifier for the Good Guys Finals in Scottsdale, AZ. as well as the SCCA championship in Lincoln, NE. Frank Stagnaro is designing the course at Crows which means it will be good and the area to run is HUGE!
CAM-S, for this event all Corvettes, Cobras
CAM-T early Mustangs, Camaros, Novas (pony car class)
CAM-C newer Pony cars

That sounds like a fun trip from Sacramento, if possible.

Bruce,
I saw that on motorsportreg the other day, but figured those guys didn't read the rules. What was the logic in allowing them (1984-2015 Vettes) in for this one event?

They are doing it on an experimental basis to see how close the times are. They have some really good Corvette drivers entered in new cars so they can get a good idea of the workability of allowing them in. ABS brakes will be tough to beat if they have any fast trail breaking corners.
Here is a Speedway Video from the 2014 National Championships
They were going to give me an award for launching a pylon on a moon shot but thought better of it. It is at 1:11 on the video tires were spinning hard exiting a corner and I caught the outside lip of the pylon.
