Default SPF radiator

Has anyone removed the radiator from a Superformance and either replaced it or had a new core put in one. I would like to know if it's custom or from a BMW and which model. Any hitches getting it out?

The SPF MK III radiator is not from any car (it's Backdraft that uses BMW parts), it is fabricated at Hi-Tech and is proprietary to the car. The radiator is all aluminum and TIG welded so very durable.

It takes a bit of "wiggling" to remove. You must unbolt the flat steel crossmember under the radiator (a couple of 13MM bolts) and some of the radiator retaining hardware is tight to access, but the job can be done with basic skills and tools.

Is your leaking Tom? It is a pricey part. Mine has been damp in the two upper corners for a couple years now. Just been waiting!!
Repairing isn't a very good option.

If the it's the tank leaking it can be repaired by a decent welding shop. If it is the core that can be replaced. The all-aluminum fabricated construction makes repairs possible.

On the other coast so no, but ask around for shops that do race aluminum rads.
