Hi Guys,
Now I know why you all have those **** eatin' grins on your face on Saturday mornings at breakfast. Took her out for all of 5-minutes late Saturday night. Never got her above 40 mph, but still went to bed with a smile from ear to ear.
Plan to drive down to Cobra U. this weekend and learn how to handle the torque. Did I mention the torque?? My goodness the torque! See you all at breakfast the following Saturday.
Thanks for allowing me to tag along and ask questions this past year.

What motor and tranny/rear end combo do you have in there?
Remember to be easy on the new motor, break in is a critical time...

Congratulations John,
Driving a Cobra is a unique automotive experience. Once you feel the responsiveness of 400 - 500 HP in a 2500 lb. package you know there will always be one in the garage.

Black,
It has a 482 CI aluminum stroker with wide ratio toploader and 3.31 rear. The engine has run for 30-minutes on the dyno, 30-minutes in the garage, and plan to put 400 freeway miles on it before "turning it loose". Does that sound like enough break-in? I've been told before to vary the RPM's on break-in. Any thoughts on that?

Great combo there. Sounds like a lot of fun
I would also avoid the top 15% of your powerband for the first few thousand miles...you have lots of power anyway... a few short bursts may not hurt, but keep it minimal for the first two K miles..... do NOT exceed redline at all, anytime, but especially during break - in ! A shift light can be configured for a lower than redline RPM so you can have some fun without going too far at first. Do NOT use synthetic oil until you reach at least 3,000 miles...this is my opinion only...ask around

Congratulations John,
Wow, with all these folks getting cars on the road, the parking lot at Athens for BACC Sat. breakfast is going to get pretty full soon. I'm glad I'm a "President".....................reserve parking is one of those presidential perks isn't it???
