Default The First Occassional President's Rally AndPicnic"

Mr. Presidents,

If I may have your attention please!

At the breakfast meeting Sat. I mentioned to a few distinguished presidents that I am planing a Cobra Rally. The reaction was most favorable so I guess it's a go. This will be the "First Occassional President's Rally and Picnic" aka FOPRAP

We would like to get about 40 cars with co-pilots for the event.

Here's what I have so far. The FOPRAP is scheduled for June 15th. The proposed start is about 10:00am at Athen's Burger's in Dublin.

The Rally will tour, through, in and around the Livermore wine region and surrounding area.

From the start, forty cars will be alternately dipatched in groups of four to one of the four different checkpoints. We are setting this up so we don't have a parade of cars all going to the same place at the same time. The plan is to have different groups of cars meeting at the different wineries (checkpoints) during the day which will also give us the opportunity to socialize and ridicule our fellow Presidents while they embarrass themselves during the games.

Once they get to the first checkpoint the Pilot and Co-pilot will participate in fun and games to accumulate points for prizes at the picnic along with a playing card for the poker portion of the rally.

At the first check point you will recieve instructions for the second leg to your next checkpoint. Each leg will be about a 20 to 30 minute run to the next checkpoint again for more fun and games etc. The routes will give us the opportunity blow out a little carbon.

All in all there will be four checkpoints. We're anticipating the checkpoints will be at the Livermore wineries with a finish at about 2-3:00pm at the Chiounard Winery off Niles Canyon Road (nice facilities for picnics)

Before we ask for volunteers WE WOULD ASK YOU TO POST IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND. We would like to get an idea of the number of cars.

I need a committee of President's to help put this together.
Pilots and Co-pilots are welcome to committee. On FOPRAP day we will need about 10 presidents or volunteers to run the show.

If we could get a committee together before next Sat. perhaps we could have the first committee meeting Sat. after breakfast. I'm sure Athen's will allow us to use there extra room for a short meeting. We welcome all ideas and suggestions that would make FOPRAP more better, goodder.

Don't be afraid to volunteer. This would be a nice event for the BACC to pull together. After all it will involve several skills we're real good at. Standing around talking about Cobras, eating and drinking!

Cost? If we bring our own picnic baskets about $10 per person to cover expenses. A catered picnic such as a chuckwagon about $30 +- per person.

PLEASE HELP! IT AIN'T GONNA HAPP'N WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT!

Hey Larry,

Great idea! My Co-Polit likes the idea, too! I just need her to check the calendar, then arrange for someone to watch the kids...

BTW, did you ever find out who treated you to Breakfast?

Keep the shiney side up,
Randy R...

Hey Randy,

Thanks for your response. That's one in a row from the BACC.

I picked up about 6 cars on the "other Forum" We're on a roll!

Thanks
Larry

PS. The cute little blonde waitress implicated you on the breakfast deal.

We're in sounds like a great pre-fathers day present to give myself , a day cruising the backroads of the Tri-valley. Now should I have her drive while I taste or let her taste and maybe get an early fathers day present later .........
