Cobras Up the Coast
I want to thank our hosts for a great time that Renee and I had on this trip. I t was really nice to spend more time getting to know other owners. We had great weather and the roads were fantastic. Other than the small riot, the green snake curse, and the UFO incident it was great. I really would like to encourage you to take this trip next year.

Stan,
I couldn't agree more. This trip was well planned out by Mike & Susie (sp?) Rosenthal, the routes were fun and scenic. truely a great time.
If we hadn't let a Porche in the group the near riot probably would have happened ( the odds were not in our favor 13 cobras vs. a few hunded bikers
Also we will be taking up a collection for Fitz, it seems that he is in need of GPS
see ya,

Denise and I would like to thank Mike and Susie for thee entire outing! Well planned and orchestrated. The group was very friendly and so easy to be with. For Monster Mike's suggestion I would prefer a homing devise that I could place on your car or any of speed infested few thatlead the pack and weren't trapped behind slow moving motor homes and such. I still found you thanks to Susie! I still had a great time and it's only the second time in my life I received a sunburn or added pigment. Denise has also used in conversation referring to the Coast Trip the term "Next Year", so if it occurs next year we will be there! The Porsche was quiet and Biker's don't like things that quiet! Fastest Police response I know of!

This weekend was the annual redwood run at piercy ca, I have been several times, usually a pretty good crowd, but you do get your trouble makers, most of the time they hang out in the outlying towns, the hells angels work security along with the local kiwanis clubs, so the psuedo tough guys dont stay at the campgrounds, your right those roads are perfect for Cobras, and not half bad for Harleys

cobra up the coast
Fitz,
I think it took all but 10 seconds for the 4 officers to break up the unruly crowd..or rioters. Our tax dollars at work. I'm sure Dale appreciated it.

Stan,
I believe all behind the Porsche appreciated the four officers. I for one, certainly did appreciate their response and co-pilot also. I believe there were three cobras behind the Porsche. I kinda think sense the four officers were on site that a problem pre-existed before our arrival. But again it may have something to do with how quiet the Porsche was compare to the rest of the group. By the way Dave F. and I take offense to your comment " the green snake curse."

Fitz,
Last year, I had just got my car on the road in time for Cobras to the Coast and my suspension not being tuned ( no swaybar, poor shocks) put me at the very back of the pack running 20-25 mph in most places on the Legget run. So I enjoyed the scenery last year, this year it was about running a little harder to see what I a had missed. Thats one of the great things about this run whether your running "spirited" or cruising the roads and scenery are spectacular.
BTW: Speed helps, remember I was in front and missed the "biker incident".
Oh, for those wanting accounts of the now infamous "Biker encounter" I’m sure there will be many recounts of the events at the next Athens breakfast.......... I heard that the guy was close to 7ft tall and real hairy hhmmmmmmmmm sounds like big foot

I also want to thank Mike and Susie for all of their planning and organization. Their work in organizing this event made it a good experience for everyone. Mike did a great job of finding the back roads with beautiful scenery and a minimum of other traffic. A great weekend.
I was sure that my son enjoyed himself when I overheard him at the winery telling a young lady admirer how he raced the car. He had just driven the last leg, about an hour, which was his first extended time driving the car. Actually he did drive the car for two laps at Thunder Hill during the lunchtime parade lap.
I was right behind Dale at the "riot" and can attest that the biker was at least 7 feet tall extremely ugly. He was exactly the stereotype of the 1970 Hell's Angel. He was lucky because I am sure that if the cops hadn't shown up Dale would have gotten out and took care of business, (sure).
Sorry to hear about Glens breakdown on the way home. So glad they are OK. I think of how bad it could have been if it would have broken at the wrong time (the Legget run).
Thanks again.

Dave and Fitz,
I had asked Harry Potter to remove the curse from your green snakes. Unfortunately he is on summer break and can't perform magic out of school. Hey, no one asked about the UFO incident.>
See you Sat.

There I was, stopped in the middle of the intersection behind Gary and Pat Eckman waiting for a couple of locals to cross the street. Gary and Pat start to pull there beautiful Cobra (they were all beautiful) forward and Michele (the wife) and I started to follow.
All of a sudden, and to my shocked suprise, someone, (something out of the woods is more like it) started yelling at me; using words I have never heard before!! My hell, what is a M.....F.....? those words are not in my dictionary! This thing was yelling "YOU BETTER STAY AWAY FROM MOTORCYCLES M...F..." "I'M GONNA KICK YOUR F'N ASS YOU M...F...." "GET OUTA YER CAR (at least he recognized the mode of transportation I prefer)YOU G..D.. M...F...(This language was coming from a really full grown something or other in the middle of a down town street)
I had no idea where this Saskwatch came from, all I could tell was he needed a bath and a shave and hair cut. This guy was HUGE, real HUGE. (I later found out he had run his stop sign, and was moving like he was trying to get away from the police that were in conversation wirh a group of bikers at the closest corner)
Well, no one talks to me like that!!, so I apologized and told him a couple of times I was real sorry. Maybe he didn't hear me because my teeth were chattering and my tounge was pretty swollen with fear. I was trying to think about my next move and thinking "I dont have my sand-wedge or a baseball bat, I'll have to use my ball point pen as a weapon OR take a quick hit of my asthma inhaler and run like HELL!
Before I could get the seat belt tightend so he could not pull me from the car, the most wonderful group of guys I have ever seen showed up. The entire Willits police force magically appeared and drug this escapee from the zoo's ape cage off his motorcycle and told him "quit resisting and dont make it worse on yourself" (as heard by my wife, Michele) I think the language may have been more colorful, but I could not hear because my eyes were wide open in anticipation of my first fight. I'd have kicked his butt!!! He is really the lucky one. I had a new pen!.
Anyway we all left town and I was so glad he was held long enough not to be able to follow.
...................................
I was glad I could add some excitement to the event, which by the way, was the second most fun thing I have ever done in a car! Michele and I had an absolutley, positively great time. We met some outstanding folks and we hope to be allowed to participate again next year, (maybe we can drive around Willits?)
Thanks Mike and Suzie, and all those that would have gotten out of their cars to keep me from destroying that guy
We are hoping to participate in Snakes to the Lake, this time we will try harder!
YOU GUYS AND LADIES WERE TERRIFFIC!!! THANKS TO ALL.
DALE

I just reread Monster's first post. He referred to the 13 Cobras vs. hundreds if not thousands of bikers. The important thing is the number of Cobras...thirteen...next time we should count ten..eleven, twelve, fourteen, fifteen..etc.

I should have known that something had happened way back in town, ( as I said I was way ahead of the action) however just as we reach the exit to our lunch stop out of nowhere comes this "black flash", it cut me ON the off-ramp and disappeared. As I stopped in the parking lot a few minutes later, there’s Dale (in his black porsche speedster) apologizing profusely with a look on his face like he had just encountered Bigfoot
the stories just keep coming,

Mike,
I was just granted premission from my co-pilot that for next year I can increase my speed to 35 mph while carving the turns and 65 mph on the hwy. That should keep me closer to the front there fore keeping you guys in sight. She is willing to grant additional mph to stay in front of the Porsche, there by not coming in contact with Bigfoot or his likes again!

Stan,
Sense it hasn't been asked and I know you want to expand on it for all to know, I will ask! Stan, what's with the UFO incident? Can you explain?

I was in the last Cobra watching BigFoot stop our path. Off to the right a bright light appeared and four men in blue came out.
It was Dales doing I'm sure of it.
