Bony,
Don't you pay attention to those boys over at FF5, especially that Weendoggy. Last time we took a trip, as I remember, he had to be towed home (Glenn, glad we can laugh about it now, but it could have been serious)
As for those GASHOLES, I haven't heard if any of those guys are coming. I'm gonna need some company at the gas stations. (those FFR's can make it there on a tank, while I plan on meeting most of the fuel distributors between the bay area and Placerville. .
Go a little..........Gas alot
Mike "monster"
BTW; I made Friday reservations, so I'll be going with the "F-Troop"

Mike,
The co-pilot and I will be proudly wearing our gashole hats, although I don't know if we're considered real gasholes, or just, ....you know...., replicas. I would be glad to keep you company at the fuel establishments, but we're not going till saturday. I figure Larry will attract the deer on friday, so we'll have a safe drive up on saturday. I'm sure I'll see you in dublin in the meantime.
thanks,
joe kennedy

Here's an update on "Snakes to the Lake" for Friday and Saturday schedules and routes.
Here is tentative schedule: (This is from the FForum) thank Len and Matt.
Friday, October 4th
8 am - F-Troop Bay Area Group will meet at Athen's Burger in Dublin.
10 am - ONTIME (you snooze, you loose)Departure.
To 580 East to I5 North via the 205 connector. I5 to I80 East to Auburn and the Foresthill exit.
Noon - Rendevous with the remaining F Troop at Baker's Square Restaurant for lunch. There are also 3 gas stations at the intersection.
1:30 pm - Departure. I80 East to Colfax and Hwy 174 exit. Take 174 to Grass Valley (watch for Giovanni's Restaurant where you will bear left). The group should stay close together here as 174 does funny things in Colfax. Matt will take up his rear. (That's what he said! Really!)
Hwy 174 to Cedar Ridge and divert to Empire Mine for an historical tour.
3:00 pm - Departure. Back to Empire Street, left to Hwy 49 which turns into Hwy 20. Follow all the way to the intersect with I 80 East. Drive 12 miles to the Soda Springs offramp and pull off at the station on the left for gas, if necessary, and to "gather up". Proceed, upon command, up Soda Springs over the old Donner Pass to the Rainbow Bridge "vista point" for a photo op.
Continue from there down into Donner and out to Hwy 89 south. Stay on 89 through Tahoe City and around North Shore. The exact route to Minden will be top secret (at least until somebody decides which one to take!)
The Carson Valley Inn Motor Lodge is on the east side of I395 in Minden.
Saturday, Oct 5
F-Troop Tentative schedule is a tour /picnic and one of the mansions on the west side of the lake.
We'll met up with the Sat, group later for the STTL dinner at the Lodge.
Saturday Group Leaving from Placerville
8:00 am - Breakfast at Mel's Original Diner, Placerville
10 am - Ontime departure taking Hwy 49 North to Auburn. Take I80 East to Colfax and Hwy 174 (as above). Stop at Empire Mine for Historic Tour and lunch/snack break.
Noon or Noon:30 - Make like a baby and head out. Back to Empire Street, left to Hwy 49 to Hwy 20, up to I 80, same as above, EXCEPT, the group MAY to too large to fit into the vista point at Rainbow Bridge. So, we may skip this spot and go on down through Donner to Hwy 89 South. Turn right into the Squaw Valley area back to the Olympic Village area. Here there will be a large parking lot for lots of photo ops. ALSO, you will have the option of taking the tram to the top for drinks at the Poolside Cafe before your trip back down the tram. If we get the cars parked right, there may be a good photo op from the tram of the cars.
3:30 pm departure - Continue on Hwy 89 through Tahoe City and around North Shore. We will make a decision on which route to take to Minden BEFORE we leave Squaw Valley.
4:30 pm arrival (depending on your driving prowess).
7 pm - Din Din at the Carson Valley Inn with the ENTIRE group!
10 pm (approximately) - an optional "moonlight cruise" for anyone interested. We will probably cruise up the Kingsbury Grade to South Shore and back.
Sunday - Oct 6
8 am Breakfast - On your own.
10 am Departure from the Carson Valley Inn parking lot. Travel up Kingsbury Grade to South Shore. Further details will be provided during the Saturday night dinner.
There are, tentatively, 3 options for the trip home on Sunday. First, we are trying to pin down a photo op at South Shore so we can get pics of everyone together. After that, there will be an opportunity to hit the grocery store before we gather up again at the Safeway parking lot at the intersection of Hwy 50 and Hwy 89. Again, more detail will be provided at dinner on Saturday night.
Get your reservations made! We need a head count!

Dale and Michele Bates have made reservations and will be bringing up the tail end of the line in their little Speedster. Guarantied to be the quietest car on the tour.

Monster--I'm trying to settle a case due for trial that week--but I'm trying... With a 10 gal fuel cell, you'll have company at the gas stations.

Snakes to the Lake
I am a relatively newcomer to the Cobra world. I have a West Coast Cobra and would like to join the BACC and partake of a great sounding event at Lake Tahoe.....Who do I talk to about the Oct trip?

Near Riot in Willits
After I got back an ol'biker buddy of mine said, "Always carry a spare 6 pack o'beer. You can use it to sooth the savage beast!" In retospect, I'm thinking an entire case would have been needed for that guy That was a close one! Thanks for having my back
See all of you Snake Folks Friday at Bakers Square.

Mohuska,
BACC is a "loose knit" group of Cobra owners and folks considering getting Cobras or who just like cobras. The best ways to get information is this club forum or to come by any Saturday to Athens Burgers in Dublin (do a search on Athens burgers and you can find specifics on getting there, its basically at 580/680 in Dublin) . As for info on te Snakes to the Lake there is a link that has some trip info: http://home.attbi.com/~sshweet/event...2002/index.htm
see ya,

Well let's see...we are driving up on Saturday. I don't need "F Troop" to guide me. Remember how bungled they were on t.v., they are the same in real life! With Mr. P leading the charge (Capt. Parmeter) and the likes of Agarn and Sarge not far behind, it ou't to be a treat for all the Friday folks. Yeah, "F Troop", "Friday", kinda' has the same ring to it.
Oh, us FFR guys are a real treat all right. We're just a bunch of "hiissys"! Some (most) are not as insane as I am but at least you're warned. Hate not to tell you and then have you find out later. So, for those who don't want to lead or follow me on Saturday better leave Friday with "F Troop". I think we should call the Saturday crew the "Wild Bunch"! That'll get some response.
Hey BH, I make fun of everybody so that way there's no discrimination involved. Must be all my government training. You know, how one idiot teaches another.
Looking forward (because it isn't here yet) to meeting all of you "gasoholics".
Monster, yeah, I was towed home. Must have been the punishment for the drive earlier in the day. Besides, I only drive by myself or with somebody, so it didn't matter.
