Snakes to the Lake
Snakes to the Lake (Tahoe) is going to be the weekend of Oct 5 & 6 th. For those of you who went last year this one will be bigger and better than the year before.
I think there will be in the excess of 60 cars so make your reservations early. Below is the FFR Forum post with general info.
http://www.ffcobra.com/ubb/ultimateb...c;f=1;t=004977
Here's the hotel info. Reserve early and refer to our group number when making reservations.
http://home.attbi.com/~sshweet/event...2002/index.htm
There is a group of cars heading up Friday to catch an extra day. I think I volunteered to lead that charge.

Thanks Larry - I can't believe that we're already discussing this "Fall" event...
Bessie & I had a wonderful time last year, and we've already marked the calendar for this year's "Snakes to the Lake".
Regards,
Randy R...

For those of you who want to LEAVE FRIDAY MORNING, here's the deal.
I just spoke to Press Lennom (Northern Troop Leader) in Applegate (Placerville-ish)and I thunk we fingered this out.
The Bay Area guys ("F-Troop") will meet at Athen's Burger in Dublin and leave at 10:00am. The route will be direct via 580/I5/50 to Placerville. Probably the better part of two hours.
We'll meet the Northern "F-Troop" squad in Placerville at a yet to be determined restaurant where we'll have lunch and get gassed. Press Lannom will lead the charge through the mountains, over hill and over dale to Tahoe/Minden Nev.He told me the route but I didn't know what the hell he was talking about. (Keep in mind when I maped it out I ended up in Florida.)
I CONTACTED THE HOTEL AND THEY WILL EXTEND THIER RATE FOR FRI. NIGHT AS WELL. MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW THE ROOMS ARE BOOKKING PRETTY QUICK.
Stay tuned I'll keep a list (e-mail me) of the "F-Troopers" and we'll get'cha more info as the time grows near.
Thanks.

Larry,
I am confused on the plan [oh thats news]
The route info [on the STTL2002 site] says "Our route this year will take us from the central meeting point in Placerville (off HWY 50) through Auburn, Colfax/Grass Valley, Cedar Ridge, Soda Springs, Squaw Valley, Tahoe City and onto Minden Nevada."
It also says: "Officially the STTL2002 starts on Saturday, Oct 5 and ends on Sunday, Oct 6. There are a number of people who have expressed the desire to start the weekend early and arrive on Friday, Oct 4. "
Soooooo, am I understanding that you/Press are organizing a group to LEAVE Athens on FRIDAY, meet in Placerville and then take a route to Minden arriving on Friday?
And then sounds like another group will then meet in Placerville on SAT. and take a route to Minden.
If you are arriving in Minden on Friday, do you have something in mind for Sat. while the other group is on their way to Minden?
Auto-X in the parking lot of the motel? See how fast the NV State Police cars really are? Car show? Cruise to Reno or Tahoe? Buy spare washers?
Thanks,
Mike 'monster'
Oh, by the way, "is that going to be left (L) at Placerville" you know how I can get confused with those (L)'s and (R)'s?

I'm an FFR guy, had it built, if I got within 10 feet of a lathe I'm sure I'd hurt myself.
Let me know whoever said all those things about FFR guys, 'cause now we''ll have to kill him. Other than that, we're real nice folks.
Co'mon along all cobras are welcome even

Made a reservation, even though it appears that JAMO booked the presidential suite and adjoining room for his flock.

Hey Fresno???????
Y'all ought to plan on meeting us in Placerville at the yet to be determined restaurant. Its usually Mels. The run from Placerville to Auburn on 49 is good. Matt

Hey Bony,
I hope you have a carb on your car cause Larry shoots at
FI car with a spud cannon. The guy can't stand fuel injection.
The best approach to him is to lie and tell them it's a new form of carburation. Otherwise you are doomed to hear all the woes of turning to FI. I'm tellin' ya, it's worst than the the door to door religion salesman.
Would a GT40 be welcome with artificial carburation ?
This sounds like my kind of fun.
Hersh

Victor Jr w/ Holley 75o and in the 'boot' extra cigars and raki for afficionados. Thought Arizona was as far 'left' as you would go. One of the special features I am urging for this event is a dunk
tank for Congressman Waters, Mayors Brown and Brown, Gov. Dufus aka Davis and Senators Feinstein and Boxer, this embarassing group of humanity is also known as the wrecking crew.
Got that GT40 fine tuned, how about some pics?
Good weekend and GOD BLESS AMERICA,
daniel

Bony,
You are right on the money. I could add to that list but it would take up to much band width.
My friend, I am sitting here in Key West Florida at the present
with a pina coloda in hand and the best damn hand rolled cigar you can buy down here. Life is good. Tomorrow I will be on the open seas with a pole in hand. This is what I look forward to most all year. There is nothing better than a Keys vacation to put your bio back in sync and keep you happy.
When I return home in a couple weeks I will put some more photos in my gallery. I'm pretty sure I can make this sanake to the lakes so keep the Raki handy and we'll toast to the true American patriots where ever they may be.
Hersh

Bo,
Thanks for the travelogue.... ok, enough already, will you be there or not? I got my room. Meanwhile some of the bullies of FF5 Forum were making fun of the GASHOLES. Weendoggy
(Glenn a very ok guy) edited out the remarks before we could read them, however, he was
to slow for the old fat wine salesman. But his intentions were pure and honorable. We need four or five gaholes to have the needed impact. As a special surprise, I have arranged for HOGTIED
to come on up from Texas for her blind date with LNP. We will fullfil her wildest dreams, to heck with her hubby. We will ad color and sparkle to the lives of these fine FF5 owners.
