Franklin Cobra selling for $1,000.00
I just received Franklin sales literature about our favorite car. You can own a limited edition pewter Cobra for 10 equal payments of $100.00. I suggest that everyone reading this post immediately get on line and purchase one of these limited edition Cobras.. Do it now before it is too late.

Sambrozy,
Is that the one that weighs about 12 pounds ? I received literature about 6 months ago about one made of pewter and it was $1,000 dollars and weighed 12 pounds. Also had REAL leather interior.

Ron,
It must be the same car. It is a large model about 12 inches long.
I wonder why people didn't snap up all the models six months ago?

Curtis,
Lets see. 2 feet long at $1,000 or $500.00 per foot. 156 divided by 12 equals 13 feet. 13 times $500.00 equals $6,500.00. I think I have seen this number somewhere....
Update:
The model is 12 and 3/4 inches. This would double the above figures. This is more than twice the price of an orginal cobra in the 60's.

I went to the Franklin web site and I see that the aluminum Cobras are only $120- does this mean that Shelby will be making a pewter body for his replicars now? How about CSX Sucker as a serial number? Just a thought.....

I did purchase the smaller version and can say that it is a very nice piece. In regards to the larger pewter version, I'm sure it is also nice, but I have better things to piss a grand away on!!

I found several of the large pewter Cobras in one of the stores in my area. They had another in the back with serial #0066 of 1000. I was real tempted to buy it but decided to put the $$$ in my new motor. If any one is interested, send me a PM and I will check if still available, or I can direct you to the store.

Tom ~ you got it pal!! Although I'm also contemplating the Kimber Ultra Ten II.......may fit under the seat a little better than the Wildey One of the lessons that I have learned about the cobra is that you shouldn't leave anything lay on the floor of the car. I've got a set of keys and probably a couple packs of smokes somewhere under my drivers seat. Thats what torque does.

Curtis,
I just checked the literature on the size of this model and it stated it was 12 and3/4 inches. Whatever CS's cut on this deal is I'm sure that it is more per foot than he ever made on his original cars. I didn't read in the sales piece if the model was even autographed.

Stan,
I have the 1/18th scale model of CSX2000 that I got from the Danbury Mint with a nice display case for $184 dollars. I have several really great die casts but this is by far the best in detailing. Under the hood the valve covers have the old hand painted 260-Xp-1 on them. The gas cap opens as does the trunk and you can take the spare tire out and mount it. All aluminum body with working suspension. All wiring under the hood is just as it was in the real one and not neately packed away.
I think this is really the best Cobra model by far that I have and I have the set of 6 Daytona Coupes from EXOTO along with the polished test car they sent anyone who got the whole set. Their detailing is very accurate right down to the bungee cords holding the spare tire in the back just under the lift up rear window. I looked at the peweter model and just thought it was to much money and really wasn't any better than some I have.
