Did I see some of you over the weekend?
Hello All,
Nice place you have here. I was just wondering if I saw some of you on University Ave. in Palo Alto on Sunday morning? I caught 3 blue Cobras and 1 porsche speedster...quite a sight to behold.
In any case, I would like to someday build my own cobra, and the Gumball Rally has been in my VCR since 1996 or so. Sadly, I've never caught more than a glimpse of any cobra...so any chance that you all will be meeting again in the bay?
Regards,
AJ

Re: Did I see some of you over the weekend?
I was driving my cobra, blue with silver stripes, along university ave. on sunday. I was surprised to see a blue with white stripes ( #40 or 43 ? )
parked. I think it's only the second time I have encountered another
cobra in palo alto.

Indeed they are...that's why I got excited over the trifecta I witnessed...
Joe...there was another blue snake but 100 yards ahead of you. I was driving in the opposite direction. Made me think there was some kind of GTG in progress.

Wanta see Cobras ????
I went out this weekend and saw lots of Cobras besides mine. Factory Five had a showing of about 50 Cobras, and their new Daytona Coupe at Sears Point last weekend. It was a good show and the racing was good. Try watching Cobra Forum.com site they are mostly Factory Five owners. I heard there were a few snakes up at Thunderhill for the open track this weekend and Mosconi Center had a car show featuring several original CSXs. Good Guys auto show in Pleasanton always draws some (from 2-20). Mini Nats at Sears Point is good for lots of snake. Try watching the Shelby American Auto Club site for events (mostly Cobras). There is another car show that happens in Alameda in the fall that draws lots of Cobras (don't remember the association name)
This weekend was a bonnanza for Cobra watching. Some week ends are real Cobra gold mines, but you have to watch for them and the internet is a great place to watch. Check out some of the photo galleries on this site.
Cobra Chuck
PS
I own the ugliest Cobra for now. I am doing the body work on it, so it has no gelcoat, lots of body putty, is dull gray, pink, green and blue. I am hoping to get the first prime coat early in December.

Hey Joe,
it was a pleasure meeting you. We met real quick over by the fuel pumps at Sears Point right before I took off. I just recognized your id in this thread. i.e. Silver ERA 427.

Thanks for the tips...I'll for sure be checking out more events in the future.
Speaking of Moscone...I'll be heading up there on Friday afternoon. If there be cobras--I'll find them.
