SB100 Memo
Does anyone still have a copy of the DMV memo that helps with SB100 registrations? I know it was posted here before and someone hosted a scanned copy of it on Club Photo but nothing comes up when I do a search.
Any help is appreciated

Mary, use your search engine...
to find the CA DMV website...I bet you can find something there, well, maybe, anyway!

Mary,
If you are looking for a copy of sb-100 I have one of it and also sb-1578. I don't remember a memo from the DMV being posted here and I can't find one either. If you want the DMV website it is-- www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/spcns.htm
That will tell you the steps and how many slots are still open. I think they update it weekly but won't say for sure.

Mary,
I just finished the SB100 registration process last week. The supervisor at the Sacramento DMV on North Ave was very helpful and the CHP and BAR visits went very well. I can't figure out why they do the smog at BAR since as the BAR guy said: "With SB100 you get a free pass."

There was a memo posted called DMV VR 2002-25 that helped a lot of folks when they went to the DMV for their first appt. and got the "blank stare" when mentioning SB100. The memo basically told the DMV clerk what to do to obtain a SPCN number and what office to call in Sacto. I will just let the folks know that are getting ready for their first appt. to print out the info. from the DMV site and take it with them.

I asked for a copy of that VR when I was in the Petaluma office and was told by the manager of the office that I could look at it but I could not copy it and they would not provide a copy of it to me. Sheesh. Helpful local DMV offices.

I took that memo with me on Jan. 2. Without it my DMV worker was ready to blow me off with her "I have been here 20 years and I have never heard of this" attitude.. She read it a few times, look up at me and said, "I hate it when they put this stuff on the internet" Go figure..

Mary,
Believe it or not I called our DMV the other day to ask about some things and the woman that I talked to was not only very helpful but she told me they have that memo to tell them the whole process of how to do the SB-100 registrations. It walks them through the whole process step by step. And our DMV has long been one of the worst I have ever seen. So if they have it and are acting nice then most of the others must have it also. If not, just tell whomever waits on you to read that memo and if they say they don't have it tell them to call the Sacramento DMV.
