Default BACC 3rd Annual Cobra Banquet

Hello All,

I have been wrestling with options for the 3rd Annual dinner and need some guidance from all of you to make a decision on a facility.

Option #1 St.Francis Yacht Club at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge We would be in the Starting Line room looking across SF Bay toward Alcatraz. This room is available to us through one of our memebers at no cost for the room that can accomodate 150 people comfortably.

THe sit down dinner would be a choice of Salmon or Filet Mignon and the price would be 52.50 for Salmon and 62.50 for Filet. This would include salad , desert, non-alcoholic beverages , tax and gratuity. A cash bar would be set up in the room for anybody that would desire something a little stronger.

Cost per couole would be 1$105 -$125 and the date would be March 29. The cost would reflect your meal choice for you and your significant other.

Here is link to the St. Franicis and there is a listing for local hotels if you are of a mind to stay in town.

http://www.stfyc.com//Default.asp?p=BasicPage&S=205&b=1

Option #2 Tony Roma's in Danville the same place we had last year except that we would have an additional room at the rear to eliminate the crowding we experienced last year. This combination of rooms can accomodate 120 people and the date would be April 5th.

The dinner would be ribs, chicken and Tritip steak with sides. The cost including room rental, dinner , tip and taxs would be $70 per couple. Drinks would ordered from the bar on a cash basis.

I need to know ASAP to work the schedule for a special guest speaker coming from out of town. Last year David Kirkham from Kirkham motor sports was the speaker and I am talking to another Cobra manufactuer that I am waiting for a commitment from.

Tony,

My choice would definately be the St. Francis Yacht Club. Of course Laurie and I will be at either location. How does the coupe look?

Tony,

Thanks very much for the effort you're putting into this. Frankly, Saint F. Yachtie Club ain't my lowbrow style--I'm more of a Tony Roma's kind of guy.

Tony,
As an event that S/Os are invited to, St.Francis Yacht Club soulnds great! Besides, since it's a member only type of place(?), when else would one get the opportunity to go. Just talked to Bride....St. Francis Yacht Club is her vote.

Thanks guys.....

Please make your preference known in poll at the top of the post.

Dave, The Coupe is coming along really well, engine is built and ready to put into the chassis, almost a roller. There are pictures of the engine in my Gallery.

I hope you have some pictures to share at tomorrows meeting.

Hi Tony.
Happy Valentines Day everyone!
St Francis is our vote.
I am typing this reply for Bob as he just had cervical spine surgery and is unable to type his own reply.
Hopefully we will make this function, seems for some reason we always have a conflict and never get a chance to really meet people and have fun with you.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Hope to see you at either Tony Romas or St. Francis, either way, we are hoping to attend.
Bob will see you back at Athens as soon as he is able.
Take care.
Bob and Joan

See ya in morning,
Randy R...

Hello to All,

I had a paper ballot at Athens this morning and results are:

5----option #1
4----option #2

The poll to date is :

St. Francis 15
Tony Roma's 8

Sounds like a strange football score but Tony Roma's missed the point after and scored a safety !!!!!!!!!

The Saints had five field goals....lousy in the red zone.

We have reservations at both at this point and have a bit of time to make the decision based on the voting. I hope have the commitment for the guest speaker this coming week.

Tony R.

'unfun' cars? The last time at the Fish place,I was the only one---
I don't mind freezing and suffering--but I'd like some company with my misery !! !!-Either way, looking forward to it !!

Hello Larry,

Both of the facilities we are considering have large parking lots. In the case of the St. Francis they have parking lot security people and video surveilance equipment.

Hi Guys,

Pat and I were at the St.Francis for a Valentines dinner/Dance and it is very impressive facility.

The Room we have reserved is the "Starting Line Room" has a 40 foot long bar across the back, large stone fireplace across the front and the entire side of the room is windows looking acroos San Francisco Bay.

The meal is sit down Dinner as opposed to the buffet at Tony Romas.
