Well, it's only a few days until the 2003 Tour de Vin. The wineries are gearing up, the cater is warming up the BBQ and the roads are waiting. We will have over 100 folks participating in this years event and over 50 Cobras. To insure that we all have an enjoyable day here are a few requests and tips:
With the large number of cars, it is important that we start off on schedule, please plan on arriving by 9:00 (we don't want you to get left behind)
We will be eating lunch around 2:30-2:45, so if you are planning on breakfast at Athen's before the event starts, arrive early enough to be done by 9:15 (8:00 arrival is suggested)
Please fill-up your cars before you arrive at Athens, there are a number of gas stations along Dublin Blvd (east & west of Athen's)
It looks like we will have a sunny warm day , remember to pack sun block & hats and maybe some extra water
Some of the roads are narrow and some turns come up quickly, balloon indicators will be place to aid in navigation
The BBQ is near a private railroad line, and though they only run on Sundays there may be maintenance vehicles on the tracks, so please stay off the tracks
Please be sure to thank the winery folks, All of the wineries are opening their doors early for us and are making special arrangements to accommodate our tour
You will have about 30min. at each winery, please try to stay on schedule
If you plan on "Tasting" , please taste responsibly
BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN
