Joe,
The fuel pump quit going up the grade. I knew that Bill Emerson was following Terry Geiser home with his trailer, so I called them on their cell phones, and they graciously turned around and came to help. About 5 minutes before they arrived, as I was jiggling the ignition with my left hand and the fuel pump switch with my right, I heard the fuel pump come back on. They escorted me down to 237, then went back north. I made it home OK, haven't been able to reproduce the problem again. Bill said it could be an intermittent electrical connection, or possibly some crap got caught in the fuel pump gears, and after applying and removing power several times, it "passed" it. I'll have to check the fuel filter to see if it caught anything big, and I'll have to go over every connection leading to the fuel pump. If I don't find anything, I'll add a spare fuel pump to my tool kit, and run some wires so that I can "hot wire" the fuel pump in an emergency. Gary passed me on the way to Elliot's, and made two U-turns to stop and see if he could help.
As I'm sure you know, the BACC folks are good friends to have!
thanks,
joe kennedy
