DIRECTIONs Red Bluff UPDATE/schedule
Here's the latest on the Red Bluff run.
NEWS: I was just told that a rare and nice '41 Ford COE will be showing up (if you don't know what that is you'll have to check it out, anyway he has asked if a couple of his friends can join in.........2 original 427's is what I was told plus a national award winning GT350 should we let them park with us?
I need to make sure I have my camera!!
If you want to come show up at Athens on Sat EARLY
weather forecast 89 degrees
okay,
The current plan is to leave Athens @ 6:15 (NO LATER)
Dublin to Vacaville (50 mins) 7-7:30 eat/gas (55miles)
(there are a number of gas stations in the area)
Vacaville to Williams gas 8:20 (53 miles)
CHEVRON STATION
ED JENSEN INC
505 4TH STREET,
WILLIAMS,
SHELL
570 E STREET
WILLIAMS, CA 95987
Williams to Red Bluff arrive 9:30 or so (1hr)
meet at south end of town at Park just off of Main by Marina
Car Cruise/parade to dealership 10:00 (promptly)
Bill Emerson will be joining the BACC group and is bringing 9 Cobras.
It appears that we have about 9 Cobras leaving from Athens plus 3 that may join up for a total of 21 Cobras
the entire event includes:
Emerson 9 Cobras
BACC 12 Cobras
Plus 25 Ford powered Street rods and custom's (all show quality machines I'm told)
13 Model A's
10-12 Mustangs
total 60-65 cars.
*remember to bring chair, sunscreen etc....
If you have any questions please email me.
Mike

I met with the SSCC today (super secret cobra club) at an undisclosed location
Tony's pan has been tested and is being shipped and he is planning on coming.
Fitz and Tony will join the caravan in Concord at the CHP/weigh station (Dave this may be a good place for you to meet up)
Shaun, Joe K. and I and anyone else will leave from Athens
Gary C. will join in in Benicia
I'll add more as folks respond.
Does everyone want to stop for eats or just grab and go? If we GG we will shave about 1/2hr off the trip.
Let me know,
Mike

Mike/Gary
Since I live in Benicia I will try and catch Gary at the Shell Station at East 2nd St and 680. If you leave Dublin by 6:15 you should be in Benicia by 6:45 easy. Does this sound like a good rendezvous time?

HOTEL INFO:
Also: If you are planning on staying over here's the number to the LampLighter Motel 503-527-1150 (not sure about what the discount may be since it looks like only a couple of folks were interested but give it a try.

Mike,
Just realized that I have to get up really, really early on a Saturday morning, then wait for you and the rest of the group to drive in the 82-88 degree weather for 3 hours or so. One way! It doesn't matter what my point is or was going to be because I will do it. Dave and I will be waiting! By the way what is the count down (sorry, up to) to now!

Mike,
Had a great time at Grand opening of Red Bluff Ford. Thanks, goes out to our host for food, drink and hospitality. The participant plaques were a nice touch. Weather was absolutely great, warming only inland on the return trip home. The total environment was great. Got to met the Emerson Gang, Terry Brown and countless others. Car ran like a clock. Thanks for Dave Frey for running lead on the trip. Nice pace. Hope Shaun faired OK-left us in Farfield to return home for mechanical reasons. Only 2 hours and 40 minute trip with picking up Gary and one gas stop! Terry Brown, Joe Kennedy and Monster Mike were a little frisky in the parade line, they were changing lightly colored pavement to shades of dark! The curse of the green snakes is offically lifted (Stan are you there). Had a great time.......Thanks to All!

Fitz....
What a pleasure it was to meet the reps from the BACC. Couldn't have been a nicer bunch of folks.
Now about that rumor of our being a little "frisky" during the parade... A wise BACC driver said that day, "Well we couldn't do it when we were kids!!!" He then made some comment about how "I made him do it!".
Thanks to all for not throwing rocks at me for the prior DMV stuff. After the fifth comment about, "Oh, you're that Terry Brown?". Lisa (my loving & understanding wife) asked if maybe I should be somewhere else. If anything, I appreciated the support from all that were there. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to join you in another event.
Happy motoring!!

Sounds like you guys had a good time in Red Bluff. I peeled off at Williams headed back home via Highway 20 to Lake County, Middletown to Pope Valley, Angwin, St Helena and on to Benicia. GREAT roads. All was well until I came around a corner on Butts Canyon Road to find a cloud of dust, a freshly planted Harley and rider in a ditch. Rider had broken leg & road rash but not life threatening injuries, his helmet saved him from serious damage. There was no cell service so I couldn’t call 911. Sent for help and finally got him and his bike picked up and sent to appropriate locations for respective repairs.
Mike next time you plan a road trip I’ll stick with the group.
