Default BACC: Anyone in BA have a Kirkham 289FIA they want to show off?

So, I thought I had it all figured out: the car of choice was a E.R.A 289FIA --- then I start talking the the Kirkham guys (regarding their fiberglass offering of the 427, initially) and realized that I would do myself a great disservice if I didn't take a good, long look at an aluminum Kirkham 289FIA. I had some misconceptions about what they were offering, and a few clarifying discussions and some photos of their 289FIA later, the E.R.A. decision isn't as solid as it once had been.

Thus, the current quest for a SF Bay Area local that has a Kirkham 289FIA in any state of completion that I could take a look at.

I'm in Scotts Valley, but have popped in to the Dublin Saturday gathering.

PM me or add to this thread.

Cheers,
Dangerous Doug

Nobody? Not one of you Kirkham 289FIA guys out there in the SF Bay Area?

Huh! Well, I guess I'll have to take a trip out to Provo and look at one there.

Really? No one?

Default 289 FIA

You may have trouble finding a Kirkham FIA to look at....i was told and correct me if i am wrong...only 15 aluminum bodied Kirkham FIA Cobra's were built....11 went to Shelby and carry CSX numbers...4 carry Kirkham numbers....I am told Kirkham has stopped makng the FIA as a production car but will make one on a special order...i have one of the Kirkham FIA's...if you would like any pictures or have any questions i can answer please let me know....regards Matt

I guess I should be more specific, given the Kirkham nomenclature: I'd like to see a 289FIA hybrid (289FIA body on a 427 chassis). I've talked to the Kirkham's about the original suspensioned cars (front leaf spring suspension) and realize that they are few and far between.

I hadn't been looking at Kirkham because I was under the mistaken impression that their version of a 289FIA was a 427 rear section coupled with a 289 nose. They do make such a car, which apparently is the 289 to 427 transition car. I've since learned that they offer a 289FIA with either the 289-type suspension (special order) or the hybrid with the 427 chassis. The 289FIA hybird is interesting to me, in that it has the body styling that I like with the coil spring suspension.

Allan A: I'd like to check out your CSX. Check you PM.
