John - thanks to you and the others who have expressed an interest in joining in - this is the same event as the "West Bay/Beach Run" I posted several days ago. While still more than a month away, it appears that we should have a great turnout. We are still finalizing a few more of the details. I will post them here and give them to Monster to also post.
Thanks to Mike for his work on putting this on BACCevents.com.
Any questions feel free to send me an e-mail @ spf1965@sbcglobal.net.

web Issues should be FIXED
I have moved the site and the bandwidth issue should now be fixed.
I had to copy a lot of pages but the testing I've done shows everything working. I'll try to fix some of graphics later.
Thanks,
Mike

There is no formal sign up process other than to post here, or send me an e-mail, that you plan on attending.
I am looking for a head count because: (1) after breakfast and a run down the coast, we are planning to stop at a winery's tasting room before lunch. They have a limit on the size of a group, so I am trying to figure out whether we will have more than 30 folks, their limit (they also want to make sure they have enough pourers available). It is fine if we have a few more, we will simply need to phase the number of people in the tasting room at any one time and make sure we do not overload their limited parking - both issues can be worked out. (2) We would also like to give the place we are stopping for lunch a head count - they will be able to handle our size group regardless - both for the meal and parking, the later we will give them a count so spaces can be marked off. I would also like to let Alice's know, in order that they have the waitstaff and food available.
Just let me know if you plan to join us, with or without a co-pilot. Not a problem if your plans change - just let us know. As this is the first time, we have no way to judge participation and thus how many meals, etc. will be served.

Hey Tom,
I always have my copilot, otherwise I get lost or in trouble. Also we can do something else will the wine tasting goes on since neither one of us drink wine.

Scott,
You bring up something that I know we consider when planning outings such as "Tour de Vin" and I'm sure Tom will agree with for the "Santa Cruise".
These events are NOT about the drinking. The events are about getting together and enjoying some beautiful scenery, our cars and most of all the people. The wineries are selected because they have nice settings, are fun and they offer a chance to socialize. Many of the wineries have deli's, shopping and nice grounds to enjoy and there are a number folks who do not drink or choose not to on these trips. So pack up some water..........
see ya,

Scott - there is an grassy area near the tasting room where you can hang out. You are welcome to stop at the winery or elsewhere along the run at your favorite beach. Pigeon Point is a fun stop, although pretty far north of lunch. We will plan on you two for lunch, but not part of the head count for tasting, although it is always interesting to hear the sales pitches.
Monster, you are correct about the reason we stop at wineries. Our present plan is to stop at the Bonny Doon tasting room, located up in the redwoods. Their grounds are lovely, but not particularly spacious as they blend in nicely with the surrounding trees. They do not have a deli or gift shop, the later will be present at lunch. There is a patio outside the tasting room for those who do not partake or who are waiting to get in. Also keep in mind that this stop is planned for about 11 AM - giving us time to get there and to coincide with their opening for business that day. I expect we will hang for about an hour and then head for lunch 10 minutes away.
