Lost and Found
Found at Athens Saturday morning 4/29/06, a computer chip plug-in thingy,
Purple Rainbow SuperPro.
I checked with Larry, Russ, Terry and it is not theirs.
Ask around if you were there and I'll get it to the owner.
Gary

Speaking of chip plug-in thingies, does anyone have an MSD 6000 or 6200 chip for sale (or exchange for a 5500 model)? Rich

HOLY CRAP! I think that's my hardware key for my computer at work. Does it have a hole at the end of it, kind of like a key would for a key chain!?
Please cantact me A.S.A.P. I REALLY need this or I'm dead at work.

OK, I'm home now. Gary, could you call and let me know when it would be convenient to meet with you so I could get my hardware key back? BTW, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Tony: Greg has a 6K chip for me, which is a nice, conservative option. That's where my peak horsepower happens, anyway. But thank you very much for the offer. Rich

Hi Rich,
You are welcome, I keep a 6200 plugged into my Shelby, changed it when I hit 6000 accelerating through the gears......really shocked me when I was charging forward and the engine died under me. The MSD stops firing to the plugs and it almost like you ran into sand when it cuts out.
Good Luck,
Tony R.

Hey Tony,
I Thought it was interesting, I ran a 6000 rpm chip that would cut out at 5,850 rpms so I upgraded to a 6200rpm chip that now cuts out at 6050 rpms. I thought it might be a tach discrepency. I added a ultra shift Tach/shift light, Which I absoultly Love, And the difference between the two tacks is almost identical. Hard to tell the difference, One being mechanical and one being digital. After talking with others, this is common for a chip to be "undersized" alittle. After all, Better to be safe than sorry!

Hi Gregg,
I agree, when you look at the MSD tech sheets it starts to steal alternate cycles approx. 200 RPM before you hit the hard stop....let's you know you are getting close.
With the 6200 you feel the soft stop at approx. 6000 otherwise it starts to steal cycles at 5700 - 5800. With the 427 set up right they easily wind up to the top of the rev limiter very quick.
I love sound of the big block 427SO when you twist its neck, the highway is clear or on a long freeway ramp. The sound on the track comes through the helmet even with ear plugs and the view from helmet is a mental place I visit when I need a break.
