Rich, it occurs to me that since y'all are in the area and since you've noted a bit of detonation with your Shelby I thought I might mention the 76 Gas Station at Foxworthy and Almaden. 100 low lead. I run a BSA Spitfire at 12:1 that likes higher octanes. I've been out of town on a business trip for two years now but I researched the net to see if there was anywhere else. I found a discussion on a Corvette site. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...23&forum_id=45 Good Luck, Scott

Thanks for the info, Scott. I do gas up at that San Jose station before I go autocrossing. I'd do it regularly if it wasn't for the $5.00 price tag. Anyone have any experience with Amsoil Series 2000 Octane boost?
Since my daily driver is Brand X ('87 Corvette) I am going to register on that Corvette site. On the thread you sent, one guy mentions that the price for 100 octane in Woodside is the same as San Jose, but another says it is $4.39 a gallon. Worth the trip for that price. Anyone know for sure?
A question: while my car will suffer overrun when I shut it off when it is hot without using my clutch, I've never heard any actual pinging (detonation). Of course that just may be because my exhaust is so loud. It runs great and I run it a tad rich. Anyone know how to check for detonation if you can't hear it? Thanks, Rich.
