Default End of Summer Run remains on 9/9/06

It appears that many more people are able to make the 9th than the 17th and as such we will maintain the original schedule of the 9th. My regrets to all of those who for whatever reason can not make the 9th - thanks to those of you attending Lewis' memorial service and showing the BACC colors.

Several people previously expressed uncertainty about being able to attend the Run (on either day) or I have not received further confirmation (e.g. Dinobyte, Lumberman, Mike Bartlett & Herbert, Guppiedriver). Please confirm one way or the other when you know.

Southern Marin breakfast - per Badrich's suggestion, we will meet at the Dipsea Cafe (200 Shoreline, Mill Valley) between 8 and 8:15 AM. I have been assured that parking is not bad at that time of morning and we will try to get parking spaces together. Please let me know if you plan to make it to the Dipsea so we can try to save spaces on the lot and tables inside.

We will also use the Dipsea (or close by) to gather the entire group before hitting Highway One. For those of you not dining at the Dipsea, please arrive between 9:15 and 9:30 AM - we will not be able to wait long for stragglers. There is gas near the Dipsea or along 101 if you are heading south from the San Rafael Bridge.

Lunch will be at Lucas Wharf restaurant in Bodega Bay. We expect to arrive there between 11:30 and noon.

After lunch we will head toward Petaluma and the Keller Estate Winery. I have previously posted the backround of this very special winery and its tie in with cars and architecture. Please let me know if you will not be joining us at the Winery as they need to know how many people are needed to staff our Tasting. There is a $10 tasting fee for their 5 wine sampler.

We are looking forward to another wonderful BACC event.

Thanks Tom for getting this together.
I'll be solo.

Does anyone want to meet at Baja’s in Mountain View for breakfast at 7:30 am then leave at 8:15 to meet the rest of the group in Mill Valley at 9:15?

Tom,

I think I previously communicated my plans but I'm not positive. I'll be having breakfast at Athens and then driving with the group to Dipsea Cafe. I will be going to the winery. My co-pilot for this trip will be my son though so only one of us will be tasting.

Chris

I will try to make it and will keep you posted as we get closer. I will not be tasting either.

Thanks, John

TH - It would be great if you could meet us in Mill Valley rather than stopping at Baji's - that way you are already at the meeting place and you don't waste time going through Mountain View - straight up 280. Your call . . .

FWIW, the 9th is not a normal Baji's breakfast Saturday.

Chris - we will miss Kim (Maggie was looking forward to catching up). Please plan to stop at the winery on the way back, even if neither one of you taste. It should be a very interesting place with a lot of automobile memorbilia.

JM - hope you and some of the other NorCal guys can make it.

Tom, I will be "on call" that day and will not know if I can attend until the morning of the 8th. If we can go, Andrea and I will be at Dipsea's and be tasting at the winery. Mark

Tom, I too will be at Athens for breakfast, then heading out for Dipsea Cafe. I will also be attending the winery. May be flying solo though.

On a side note, Since the 9th is not a Bajas Day, are there any other So. Bay guys that might want to meet for breakfast at Athens in Dublin, before heading out to Dipsea Cafe? If so, we start at 7:00am. C-ya!

Gio - As I was expecting mainly west Bay folks at the Dipsea, why don't you skip Bajis and have breakfast with us at the Dipsea - by arriving at 8:15 at the Dipsea, it is about the same time as a normal Bajis breakfast. That will also cut down the risk of delay.

Mark - let me know as soon as you can as I will provide a final, final count on Friday the 8th - I hope you guys can make it.

Tom

Gentlemen: Dipsea really has excellent food, and while I would like to eat earlier, it will be worth the wait. I have a friend in the area and eat there fairly often, so trust me. Really. Rich

Gio, you and any of the other East Bay folks are welcome to join us for breakfast at the Dipsea (8-8:15) although I was figuring only west Bay people, as I didn't think you 925ers would want to miss Athens. Reality is that you would leave home at about the same time regardless of where you eat (unless it is AT home).

East or west - just let me know ASAP if you want to eat at the Dipsea so I can request enough parking spaces (as Rich will attest - parking can be at a premium) and there are no promises.

Please make sure you have a full gas tank before 9:30 so we don't have to wait at the pumps.

OK. Rich talked me into it. Breakfast at Dipsea. Who in the west bay wants to meet and cruise to Dipsea? Is 6:45 a good time to meet? I'd like to go up 280 and over the Golden Gate.

Tom,
Danette and I will cruise up with you. I have no idea were the place is. I haven't looked it up yet.
I am sure if Greg and Mark and maybe Bill B. go, they would also join.

Hey Tom,

Put Bessie and I down as a very strong tentative for both breakfast at Dipsea and wine tasting for two. Our sitter is not 100% confirmed and may not be confirmed until Friday, the 8th.

Thanks,
Randy R...

OK Tom, I'll make a full day of it, and join you guys for breakfast at Dipsea Cafe'. How long would you allow for travel time from Dublin/Livermore, area?

Any other East Bayers want to make the early morning cruise? CJ428CJ howz about it?

Great Scott,

How about meeting at Starbucks on Kooser at 6:45? Mapquest says 1hr. 15min. to Dipsea. That gives us 15min. to wait for stragglers.

Tom: There is a big parking lot in Cupertino at De Anza Boulevard and Homestead Road just a block north of 280 (N/W corner, by Goodyear and PW Super). Easy to get back on 280. We should leave by 6:45 AM to get up there in time to top off before breakfast (for those of us who are mileage impared). Would that work? Rich
