Knock Off's
Broke one of my knock off's tonight when I was taking off my rear tire. I looked at a couple of web sites. There was almost a $400 difference between the two places. Anyone have a good source for a good price?

Scott:
you might try going to stainless for your spinners. The chance of breaking one is vanishingly small.
There are a couple of manufacturers around that handle them. One is George Petrus at:
Accurate Machine Products
20417 Earl Street
Torrance, California 90503 U.S.A.
310-370-1035 fax line
email at: petrusg@ix.netcom.com
Don't know if he's still in business but I got mine from him.

Scott,
When I bought my car, the owner told me he broke a spinner. He called the dealer. Was told this was a known defect. Sent him four new upgraded spinners free. (How's that for customer service!!)
I don't know if your car has the same situation. Worth a try.

Hey Scooter,
I have a box of the SPF spinners here in my garage.
I'll give you one of these and then you can take the time to decide what you want to do....I have the polished SS spinners on my cars from George.
I'm just North of you in Alamo --- East Bay.

Scott:
If you decide to go with the SS and want to polish them have the manufacturer do it. I tried to do mine myself and as hard as stainless is it was a joke. The casual home shop is not equipped to handle that kind of job. Ended up sending them back to be polished.

Well, since everyone has them laying around, just bring them to breakfast in a box. I will take them home. That should give me plenty in case I break another one.

Hey Scott,
A few years back we did a group buy of the SS spinners from George, this was about the time SPF started to make their own wheels/adapters /spinners instead of the pieces available in the market.
One of guys had a spinner break, spun the car out and totaled it......SPF stepped up and replaced the roller.
I have four from Trigo and four of the SPF pieces. There is a significant difference between the old SPF parts and Trigo.....SPF has since changed their design. The best spinners are the SS from George, he also supplies SAI.

Scott,
If you do order the SS spinners from george, Make sure you tell him you want them drilled for the safety wire as they do not come drilled! No charge for this but make him aware as he forgets to ask.

How common is it for the aluminum knocks to break? I am in the process of my build and wish I would have known about the SS spinners so I could have ordered them with my wheels from PS.
