Daryl,
Congrats on the car. What do you think? Any difference the way it runs?

Tom,

too soon to know. I have to break in the motor all over again. Some dude in a vette wanted to play on my way home with the car. I'm going to baby it for 500 miles, and then be gentle for the next 500, and then stand on it.

I did receive one of the first reworked carbs back from Roush, and I can already see improvement. My old carb (870 elec choke) NEVER ran worth a damn when the car was cold. I'd have to keep it running with the throttle until it warmed up, and if you tried to drive it would stumble. Tried adjusting the choke all over the range and no change.

New carb, fired right up, no loading up, ran great cold. They seem to have done a lot of work to make these run better. Interesting with my old carb I put the car on a chassis dyno and it was lean so we jetted up a few sizes to fix it. From what RED told me the new carbs actually have smaller jets that the old ones. Once I finish break in I'll get the air fuel. I also have new mufflers that I want to weld in, so I'll add some O2 sensor bungs at the same time to be able to check air/fuel without going to the dyno.

Did you pull the trigger on a new motor?

Daryl,

Great to hear you got your car back!! Did you drive it back from Reno?

I'm waiting to receive my re-worked carb from Roush/RED...hoping it resolves the low RPM stumble.

Look foward to catching up with you at the get together on the 15th.

Daryl,
It sounds like you still have an 870 carb. It would be great to find out what they did to make it work.
I think I'm going to wait until Dec. That would make a good Christmas present. Although I'm watching FF5. They're announcing using Dick Smiths Cobra body has my full attention.

I will meet up at Kooser Starbucks.

Rich,
Summer will be over by the time you get your car going!!!!!!!

Daryl,
Glad to hear you are going. It's amazing what a little tweeking on a carb can do. Once I bought my carb from 4 Seconds Flat and he gave me his guide, and I bought my A/F meter, it is fairly easy to change things. One little thing changes another, and another. I have absolutly no stumble, or hesitation at any rpm!

Scott
