I changed the fanbelt last night and went for a test drive. Looks like I'm good to go. My wife has plans tomorrow so I'll be solo.
Empire grade is a nice run. It takes you through Bonny Doon up into the hills and ends up on High Street by UCSC. Hoping it warms up quickly tomorrow...it was 39 and sunny in Santa Cruz this morning.
If we're heading south, then Kooser seems to be a good meetng place.

Well, how about meeting at the Starbuck at the above address at 10:00am, then we can finalize a route from there.
There are a few option. We can go up to Hicks off Camden, Almaden to McKean, up hwy9, and many others. I printed out a few small maps.
Since we are going to be around Santa Cruz around lunch, I will have to feed my face. Doug, is there any small burger joints around there we can stop at?

This sound good, if we could meet at 9:45 and start at 10:00. I need to be home by 2:PM to time the CCS football finals.

Carpo's in Soquel has great burgers and sandwiches. There's isn't a lot of parking, but it's a good spot for those who want to head up Old San Jose Road.

A friend of mine and I will join you at Starbucks at 10am. Isn't there a 76 station with 100+ octane near there?

Dave,
It is at Foxworthy and Almaden Exp. If you come down 85, head north on Almaden about a mile. It will be on the right. Then head back south to Blossom Hill and make a right to get over to Starbucks.
Both Danette and I will be there in the morning.

Chuck - Thanks again for suggesting the drive today. I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life and had never been on those backroads in the SJ foothills before. Great drive!
All - How was the drive up Old San Jose Road to the summit after lunch?
Greg - Hope you made it back OK and best of luck with the repairs.
May be my last outing for a while....my alternator was squealing like a mother by the time I got home.

Doug, the road up to the summit was great - lots-o-twists - posted speed limit was 40, so we went about 50 BTW, lunch was delicious - good choice!
Thanks again,

Doug, good luck with that pesky alternator. It's [robably going to start raining in a couple of weeks, anyway... Old San Jose was really good!
Greg, good luck with your "spitting cobra". Hope it's a quick fix.
Someone tell me how to include pics in a message and I'll post the 4 or 5 that actually came out from the 200 I took. I need to get better at the aim, downshift, autofocus, steer, click sequence.

Chuck,
I take the pictures and resize them on the computer to around 780x1200(they will load quicker), then save them to your desk top. Once you do that, go to the CC web site and go to galleries. Click on upload photos, then hit browse and you can go to your desk top to upload them. After that, open another CC window, click on the picture you want to upload, highlight the address, right click copy( if you have a pc), then go to the other CC window were you have your post going and hit the right click and paste or ctrl V button and it will post it to your thread. You can do multiple ones. Hope that helps.
Had a great time today. It's probably a good thing we had some slow cars in front.
Greg, get her fixed quick . Give us an update when you get it figured out.
Tan, sorry we lost you!

Hey guys,
It was a pleasure meeting all of you today and getting the opportunity to put names from this site with some faces. I had a great time and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Great weather, really nice people, good food, and I finally got around to getting my Cobra out for a run with the gang. I'm very glad Chuck suggested the drive....if the weather can hold up like this every year, we should make this an annual event...maybe call it the "Leftover Turkey Run"
Greg, I hope you get your car fixed and it's nothing more than a head gasket.
Doug and I hosed down the parking lot like a pair of firefighters being called out after a messy fatality. The gentleman that works out of the Finance office there wasn't a happy camper about the leakage when he showed up, but I think he was in a better mood afterwards.
Wow, I burned up about 18 gallons of gas today. I think Al Gore is crying.
