Default 2009 BACC Calendar - Need Photos

I hope you have been enjoying the 2008 BACC Calendar - there were many great shots submitted and folks seemed to support the idea of one for 2009.

With driving and Event season upon us, please keep the calendar in mind. While we need another dozen great individual shots, we may again choose to do a cover with groups shots and the like. Another suggestion for the cover was to make a collage of license plates (people would have to submit their own to make sure they were willing to have it in such a publication). Your thoughts are welcome.

As you plan your trip to Reno, Santa Barbara, Wine Country Classic, Cobras to the Coast, Snakes or other events, plus you see a chance to take a great individual shot, please keep the calendar in mind and send me a shot at BACobraClub@yahoo.com. If we get enough shots, and folks are interested in buying a calendar, there will be one for 2009. I still have several submitted photos from the 2008 calendar that may go into the 2009.

Tom

P.S. Keeping the cars featured to BACC cars seemed to work well for 2008 and thus that would be the plan for 2009.

Default Pictures please!

It has been several months since I started this post yet have not received any photos to be included in the 2009 calendar, this despite a number of folks expressing interest in purchasing such a calendar. FWIW, Monster has already started working on the cover page.

While still a few months off, I would like to have all photos in by Halloween as things got pretty rushed last year. Recall that the photos you submit should be ones that most folks would like to view for an entire month. They should also be fairly high-resolution and tell an interesting story.

If we don't get enough photos we will either eliminate the idea for 2009 (making your 2008 calendars a collector's item ) or possibly open it up to non-BACC cars. Again we must sell a minimum number of calendars to keep the price low. This is not a money making proposition - purely for our enjoyment.

I have enjoyed my 2008 calendar especially since I know each of you whose car I view each month. Please also let me know if I can pencil you in for a copy and send in a great shot or two as soon as you can.

Tom

P.S. - Preference will be for those cars not included in 2008.

Tom,

Somehow I missed the post. I will take a look and see what I can find.

Everyone that comes in my office always comments on how nice the 2008 calendar is.

Tom - I sent you a couple of pics to kick things off. Count me in for a copy of the 2009 calendar...even if if I'm not in it.

tom, I'll have somethings hopefully by the end of September; bringing a new camera (Nikon D60) with me at Snakes-to-the-Lakes.

All of a sudden....Bill realized that he was no longer a member of the BACC. But only in spirit. Now that's just sad. Zoom This lives on in the Evergreen state.

Karen and I went out today for a drive. 'Took the Cobra up along the peninsulas to Hansville, Kingston, Point No Point etc. What a great day for a drive! Weather has been beautiful. Miss you guys.

Bill

With a month to go, I don't have enough photos to put together a decent calendar nor does it look like the demand is anywhere close to last year (which helped keep the cost down). Please send me a photo that should take up about 1 MB of space to BACobraClub@yahoo.com as soon as possible. You may post here or send me an e-mail indicating your desire to purchase a calendar, assuming one is made. Hopefully you have taken at least one decent shot of your car this past year. Please remember the photo should be one that everyone will be interested in for an entire month.

Thanks - Tom

hi. are you still wanting to try to limit it to BACC members, or are you open to submissions from Texas??

if you want to include a photo of Pepe, i'll be happy to email you a photo, and will buy about 20 calendars.

If you are trying to keep it in your area, then that's cool; i'll still buy one.

Tom - I just sent you a couple of pics and you can chose if they are worthy. When I have breakfast on 11/2 with the North Bay Cobra crew I'll take a calendar "head count" - I'll bet there will be quite a bit of interest. I'll take two myself. Thanks for your efforts.

Default Need good pictures desperately

I currently have received 8 pictures, most of which I can use for the Calendar. Unless you want to see repeats, I either need more photos or will not produce a calendar for 2009.

So search your digital files and come up with a few higher resolution shots of your car, hopefully in an interesting location, that members would be interested in looking at for an entire month.

Send your photos to BACobraClub@yahoo.com. I believe the 2008 calendar was a success in part due to the quality of the pictures. Without those interesting shots of our cars, it is not worth the effort to put this together. Dig deep and send something to me before the end of this weekend - if it is a good shot, it will probably make the calendar. The focus should be on the car, not the driver or other people/ cars around the car.

Tom

Should we include Peter's "In the Ditch" shot? Um... on second thought, maybe not...

Default I need one or two more good shots - Cut-off date 11/13

I have 10 decent shots and one that is just OK. With the poor weekend weather, I heard that some folks were not able to get out to a snap a good picture. Since I don't have enough photos to make a calendar anyway, I will extend the cut-off date until 11/13. With the election over and the weather turning nice later in the week, perhaps those who wanted to submit a picture will now have the time to take that elusive photo.

Please comb your digital files for a decent shot. We have a fair interest in purchasing a calendar, now we just need enough shots to create one.

Thanks - Tom
