I'm using Redline MTL in my Tremec with no problems. GM Syncromesh is the recommended lubricant. Remember, heavier is not always better.

GM syncromesh is what I use. Careful when you pull the plug, it comes out like diesel. So have a big pan and make sure its far enough out.

What's a good rule of thumb for miles and/or time before you need to replace the trans oil? How many miles before you should change the oil in the rear-end?

Thanks.

Hi All, I'm not sure the best place to post thing yet as I am still learning about the various forums and what to post where, etc. But since this one is talking about transmission fluids I need to know what to use in my T5 "Z" spec. I just got this car and know nothing yet about what I should be using for the T5 or what oil is best in the 351 425HP engine either. I was thinking to use Mobil 1 or Castrol Synthetic in the 351. Is that OK or are there better choices out there I do not know about? I just bought an oil cooler that I am planning to install in a week or so, so I will be needing to make an oil choice by then. The car is a weekend warior but I do drive pretty hard when I can get awy with it. Any recomemdation?
Also: any one have any recomendations on a good shop for taking the Cobra in the North Bay/ Sonoma county area? Both for engine/mechanical and body/chassis work.
Would love to get a recomendation or two!
Don
