Brake & light inspection
Is there a shop in the San Jose, CA area that has experience doing a brake & light inspection on the cobra?
I went to Eserini's in Santa Clara and it didn't sound like they had much experience. The inspector looked at the car and said he would have to look up in his book what needed to be done. The car is a brand new SPF. Thanks Don Jones |
hey Don,
I might need one as well, so I'll be looking at your answers too. |
Rodney - Does your DMV paperwork indicate that a brake and light inspection is a requirement to complete your registration? If they didn't call it out on the paperwork, then you'll probably be able to slide by without it.
Don - Kind of hit and miss depending on who does the inspection, but be prepared to remove one of the wheels so they can look at the brakes. I've also also heard some inspectors start talking about back-up light requirements. The lighting and safety equipment only need to meet the year on the MSO (i.e. 1965 for the SPF). |

Where would it be noted in the paperwork? |
I had to have mine done. I did it at a shop in Los Gatos. If you need more info, send me a private message and I will see if I can get you a name and number.
