Got My Sb100 2009 Yay!!!! Santa Clara
Jerome and I , along with Ron obtained our SB100 numbers for 2009 this AM.
As in previous years , santa clara DMV came through.
I got there about 5:30AM to wait in line.
they came out about 7:40AM and collected paperwork and then invited us in a few minutes to 8AM.
there were 9 people in line for SB100 and I believe all were able to be helped.
Jerome , Ron and I were able to obtain our SB100 numbers by 8:20AM.
Victory of the hurdle.
Steve

Congratulations Steve! You'll be running on adrenaline for the rest of the day!
Did you meet Doug from Scotts Valley there?

Congratulations to all of you. The Santa Clara DMV sounds like one of the best for this.

Congrats! Doesn't it seem like demand was down 50% +/- this year? Will there be numbers available tomorrow or even later in January?

I got # 435 at 9:30 in Marin County. I was the only one there for an SB100. The computer kept spitting back my Kirkham, saying that it wasn't a SPCNS. A call to Sacramento straightened that out. All is good!!!

Demand seems to be down on Cobras. Only one other in a group of 10. Two Meyers Manxes, a Model A repro, a Superformance, and three more with old cars who just didn't want to bother with bi-annual inpections!
I got number 038. Showed up at 7:50, out by 8:20 .

Got my SB-100 # also
Arrived at Temecula DMV at 6:00am, when in at 8:00, got my # 223 at 9:20. Much easier than I thought it would be. Mine was for a FFR Roadster, others include, Backdraft, Sebring MX, 3 Dune dirt buggys and another FFR Roadster. Thanks to everyone for all the advise on the SB-100 process. Jim

Excellent! Tim and I have stopped by Doug's house a couple of times to check out his build. We were there the day Doug fired his car up...sans side pipes.

Congrats to everyone. Wow, it must be down all over the state; we waited until 9:00-9:30AM to get our SPCNS numbers 2 years ago. Sounds like the Sacto operators weren't as swamped as in previous years.

Steve,
Good seeing you this am.
Glad someone brought the propane heater while we were waiting.
I got #177 and was done by 8:08AM!!! We should write to DMV and let them know that we actually got GOOD Service. I had to go back and get a new Temp, went back to the same desk, was able to cut the line, and that took another 2 minutes!
Hope to see you at the Ranch or one of the BACC Breakfast or runs.
Just wondering how long it took to distribute all the numbers, who took the longerst?
Ron

The DMV website has not been updated. It's still showing 2008 as being all out of numbers. Hmmm. I wonder if some numbers are left.

Got mine with the rest of the guys at about 8:30, then got a 3-month TOP.
Santa Clara DMV rocks! They got us in, paid, sorted, numbered and stamped in no time.
Tim came up this afternoon to "try on" the 289 FIA, and do some roll-bar modification measurements, helped me take off my windshield so I could install my rear view mirror---then we went for a short ride. First ride on the freeway with my Cobra. It was *****in!
By the way, I was telling Tim about my personalized plate that I ordered:
" NUBIAE " which is the latin genus name for a type of "black, spitting Cobra".
