Should be nice weather. Any takers on your way to get Mothers Days cards and gifts?

Gotta luv her... My beautiful bride made 10am appointments at the local USPS to renew our passports. Sure, I can just mail mine in with a check and new photos, but for the kids, each parent (dead or live) must be present to get passports renewed for off-spring. Why she chose 10am is beyond me... Hmmm....
Have fun guys! I'll miss ya!

If your post office is like mine, you'd better take a lunch and some comfortable shoes, you'll be in the USPS time zone.

Thanks Dave. I guess I should have figured that the USPS and the DMV operate in the same time zone
Anyway, I don't mean to hijack this thread... Carry on!

Ok, I'm coming up to Alices (about time!!!)
BTW: what causes excessive backfire. I've been getting that a lot lately on the right side headers and it's getting worse I think. Manifold leak?
I have to see what's going on in there but I've been lazy and haven't had it out in 2 weeks as well.

Just spent the better part of two weeks trying to rid my car of exhaust detonation. We all call it backfire, but backfire occurs when the fuel is burped up through the carburetor with a bang.....usually a lean condition. Detonation is caused by a number of things...running too rich, exhaust leaks, and timing too retarded. The number one cause is exhaust leaks, which for most Cobra's, is caused by the slip joint between the header pipes and the collector. I've read on this forum that some have had header leaks caused by out of flat flanges. This wasn't my problem. We finally used band clamps to stop my leaks (almost) greatly minimizing my "backfire".
