Default for your teen = Sacramento Area Teen Driving Clinic

Sacramento Area Teen Driving Clinic

May 17 is the date for the Audi Club Golden Gate Sacramento Area Advanced Teen Driving Clinic. It will be held at American River College and is open to any teen drivers from ages 16 through 19. Participants must possess a valid driver’s license to participate.
The clinic is designed go way beyond what is taught in Drivers Ed or a driving school. Teens will spend more time in their cars and only a little in the classroom. Some of the exercises they will participate in include: Accident avoidance, ABS and panic braking, slalom driving in both wet and dry conditions, and an exercise that is designed to improve awareness of where your car is in relation to the edge of the road called “driving the dots”. At the end of the day every teen should leave with much improved driving skills and a big smile on their faces.
Parents are asked to attend and will be provided lunch. By having parents observe, and assist the instructors with the exercises, we hope to provide interesting dinner conversation that will keep what has been learned during the day as an ongoing discussion point within the family.
Instructors will be provided to be in car with the students for most exercises giving them real time instruction and immediate feedback. It is a classroom within the car. While the exercises are designed to be run at a low speed in a safe controlled environment, we recognize the inherent dangers with any car related training so helmets will be provided. Students benefit the most by bringing the car they most frequently drive. It will be a full day with the registration and check in starting around 8:00 AM at Niello Audi and finishing the day by 4:30 PM. Breakfast snacks, beverages, water during the exercises, and lunch will be provided for all students and a family member.
The fee for the event is $99.00 per student with a maximum of 20 students total for the clinic. Parents Lunch is $10 per parent. ENROLL EARLY. The instructor/student ratio will almost be 1 to 1. For questions and registration contact gordon@audiclubgoldengate.org.
This clinic is a great way to get your teen ready for the post graduation summer driving and make a contribution to safe driving for years to come. Make your reservations now. More details will be available on the Audi Club website…www.audiclubgoldengate.org.
