Default Sb100

Hi group,

I went down to the DMV today for a relaxed 3 hour stay. I wanted to start my registration process for sb100, although its the end of May. Well, it took a while but I got everything processed & paid and my sequence number! The only bummer is that I has order a custom plate to be delivered in SC, in April, not due for 8-12 weeks. I got home after 3 hours there and had a notice that my custom plate came in.

You got an SB100 Sequence number on May 29th? Wow! What number did you get? Knowing the number should give us clue as how many may be left...

Congrats!

Lucky you! The economy must have put off a lot of builders ... Don't think your sequence number will give us an indication as to how many are left since I believe they give them out in random order.

I was at the DMV in Daly City yesterday getting another TOP (got SB100 in SC Jan 2) Got BAR, Headlight, but failed Brake Inspection .... No appointment, given number B334 ... now serving B201! Had a nice 2 hour nap waiting for the +100 in front of me!

Ever notice the people waiting at the DMV? Worst dressed people I've seen in a long time ... maybe the economy

That's odd. I went to the DMV back in February when someone posted here that there were numbers left and was told by the DMV that there were none. This after they called Sacramento. I'll have to try again.

You GOT to get an appointment. Otherwise, the wait is just too long. There are two other options: 1) arrive before opening and be one of the first served and b) try another DMV other than your local office.

May 29th and they still had a SB100 number? Excellent! I just had a feeling that this would happen because of the economy.

I got number 448. The DMV told me that until one week ago, they were told to turn people away until January. Then last week Sacramento (looking to find money) contacted all of the DMVs and told them that there were "about 50" numbers left and it was ok to issue them again. I do think its a sign of the economy. I heard rumors of a couple of numbers left in March, so I figured I would ask, and I got lucky...sort of.

I had ordered personalized plates on 4/27 and even looked at the paperwork while at DMV, and it said the plates will take 8-12 weeks (which they have in the past). So I didn't even bother asking, got home last night and saw the notice that they came in and were ready to pick up. Personalized plates in one month! I guess no one is buying cars and orering plates right now.

Numbers left? I have got to find me a project.

I got my personalized plates maybe two months ago, but I had to wait around three months to get them. Bugger!

Andrei,

Got your number ... wow that was fast, Congratulations!

Looks like things came together very quickly. What is left to do on your car?

Tim,

Now all I have to do is get the car running. I think I have just about everything to finish assembly, so I should have it out and about by the end of the month if everything goes as planned.

Nice Steve.

Only 2 gone in 24 hours (I got 461 at 4:30 yesterday). Does that mean 18 DMV days to go (they're closed Fridays)?

Amazing! And I had to lose a whole month of sleep in December 2008 waiting for the big day.

Big bonus if you decide to sell that CSX Steve!

Geee, good thing I was standing out there on January 2 at 6 am to get my SB100...

Just kidding. Glad I did it. Who would have known? I'd still advise "future generations" to get out there post haste 1/2/xxxx in the wee hours of the morning.

I was surprised how easy the process was for me. From SB-100 thru CHP inspection and smog check. Piece 'o cake.

Old man Shelbly must be moonlighting for the california dmv. They found 50 sb100s.
Ron, sometimes it is harder to tell who is worse dressed; those of us who are visiting the dmv or those who work there...........
