Palo Alto Concours Sunday, 6/28
Hey, Dudes: Anyone else going to the Palo Alto Concours this Sunday? I'll be there parked in NorCal SAAC's corral, but there's plenty of other parking as well. Supposed to be plenty of interesting Moustangs and Porsches. Great weather as well (bring your sunscreen) http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/imag...lies/icon6.gif. Rich

I'm in town for the Stanford All-Star Prospect Camp through Monday morning (my oldest son, soon to be a HS senior, is a ballplayer like his old man). Where exactly in Palo Alto is it? I saw a sign while driving into town late this afternoon. Maybe I'll have time on Sunday to check it out, pending baseball game schedules for the campers.
Thanks,
-Dean

Dean,
It's located right off of Sand Hill Road near Stanford Hospital.

There's a link to the map on the website. The event is one day on Sunday.

Doug, thanks for the reference. I'm at the Sheraton just around the corner. Will probably walk across campus early Sunday morning and check it out! I will look for the Cobras and introduce myself.

The car show field is a little bit of a hike from Sunken Diamond (baseball field). Sunken Diamond is near El Camino with most of the rest of the sports facilities:

Guys,
I hope to have the last finishing touches done on my car and have it on display at the Dynamic A/W tent. The car is really taking shape and looking good. I hope it will be presentable then.

Andrei, do you what other cars Dennis will be displaying besides yours?
Dean, it's not that bad of a distance, but I didn't want you to get the impression that it's a hop, skip and a jump away.

Dennis had a red GT40 at the VMOA show in Cupertino. Guessing that he'll bring it to Palo Alto as well.
Stroker motor, SB100, $85K.

Thanks Doug. I'm familiar with the car and owner. Its been for sale for a while.
Is everyone on CC just going whenever they can make it during the day or is there a specified meeting time? I'm playing a soccer game just down the road on the turf fields at Mayfield at 1:15 PM, so I would have to check out the show in the morning.

I am not sure yet. We are either bringing the GT40 or Dennis' Roush MKIII. We were going to see if my car was finished or not. It looks like it will be. I took it out for it's first outing this evening and had a nice conversation with one of Mountain View's finest....now he wants one too.

Hey guys ...
I'll be there in the morning and have a suggestion for those early birds. It's fun to get there a before it opens and watch as some of the cars are driven in, kind of like your own reviewing stand.
I did this for many years when they used to have the concourse on the practice fields adjacent to Stanford stadium ... my Dad took me there in the 1960's, and have been going off and on ever since ... always a great show.
See you there.

Sounds like a great show.
Any more room for another Cobra in the NorCal SAAC's corral?
See you there.

I don't think I'll be taking my car. I think I'll just come and go in the morning.
The VMOA (Vintage Mustangs Owners Association) and the NorCal SAAC clubs are meeting at 7am sharp in the Stanford Nordstroms parking lot at the corner of Sand Hill & Plum Lane.
They will have a shaded area for both clubs and, if the corral is full, people can park in the large covered parking structure or out in the large uncovered parking lots.

I checked the Concours website and it appears that the corral is full (other cars will be there as well). I signed up quite a while ago. Sounds from above like there's other decent parking, however. But meeting at 7:00 AM??? Should be a good show, though. Rich

That's the hot ticket (and without paying $25 at the gate).

Is this where the Cobra guys are going to meet or stay? I figure I'll get there around 5:30am and watch all the cars come into the concours area, then head up a couple blocks to the Nordstrom and check out the Cobras.

Dean,
The NorCal SAAC guys will be parking in a car coral that's adjacent to the main Concours site. The Nordstrom site is just a meeting point.

I'd like to attend but where to park if you're not "showing" ?
