Default aka searspoint is it not cobra friendly?

I was suprised two get two kind posts warning me of uncool tec inspectors at the local track. what gives? short rollbar? i have a helmit. and a fire suit . I use to run 9.90 in a sht box rusted out dodge dart with a dirt bike helmit and a six point cage. what should i do? HELP.

Used to be easy. The old "run what you brung" days (like Fremont Drag Strip) are over.

For the drag strip the Cobras can run far faster than they can tech to in the standard configuration. Because its an open top car you have to have arm restraints and full width rollbar to run under 12.50 in the 1/4 or 7.50 in the 1/8 th I believe. I got booted from a 1/8 mi track for running a 7.48 at 94 mph on my first try. Went to a different track and they let me slide with the 7.40's but said if I hit 7.30 I was out.

I miss the Fremont Drag Strip. -- ahhh 1988-89....not soo long ago....
